The Journey to Love...
Nico and Mari were work mates and good friends as much as their employer/employee relationship would allow anyway. However, beneath their friendship, their lust or love for each other was simmering. As Nico was a married man, who prided himself on never dallying with his employees, he kept his feelings and behaviors for Mari tightly under wraps and above reproach until his marriage blew up spectacularly, and he made the mistake of seeking solace from the one person he knew he shouldn't have with lasting consequences.Mari was ecstatic that Nico finally noticed her in that special way, but torn about it afterwards. However, she wasn't ready for the pushback from Nico in dealing with results of their one night interlude. This book was very good with a very plausible storyline! The characters were well developed and the dialogue was also appropriate.I would definitely recommend this book!

super alpha with narrow vision
Nico was alpha. He was a law unto himself. The bright light in his life was Mari. She was his friend. The night his world changed so do d Mari’s.There were many times that I wanted to slap Nico. And I have to say the same for Mari. She was strong willed but easily swayed when it came to Nico.I did enjoy the story. I do wish she was more put her foot down. This was an aged gap romance that I did like.

excuse me sir
Nico is crazy. Like bat poop crazy. He needs therapy and some milk! I have never wanted to slap box a character more than I have him. He’s the most stubborn, pigheaded, arrogant, pushy, peanut brained individual! He lucky he’s fine. Even so, he’s lucky someone like Mari loves his weird tail! Whew, y’all pour out some bless oil for our sis Mari cause she got a whole handful in that man! If you do not like extreme Alpha men with insecurity issues then this book isn’t for you. Please don’t leave negative reviews. Just take your preferences elsewhere. I need a drank. Boy gave me the blues! Lol!

Love will find a way!
Read this book last 🙄, dumb me, the characters do connect to the next book. This storyline is soo good, some of it too realistic to a certain extent. The supporting characters are great, I like the way the storyline flows right to the next book 🙂. Nico was tricked into marriage, Celia claimed pregnancy 🙄. He's miserable until he catches Celia in their bed with another man. Lawwd, Nico inflicts the walk of shame 😂. The divorce is ugly, it leaves Nico with some ugly scars 😔.Mari works for Nico, she's a good friend, she truly loves him, respects his marriage, won't cross the line. Nico has lusted, and cared for Mari but never crossed the line. The night he catches Celia, is the night he and Mari finally engage in what both have wanted, thought and lusted about 🔥💋💥, wew chile!!! Mari has never wanted another man but Nico. When she reveals to him months later that she is pregnant, old scars resurface, them words tho 🤦♀️. Mari resigns, she will raise her child alone. Four years later......read the book, the whole series is worth it. Love will find a way ❤.

Reminiscing
This is my first time reading this author. I grew up reading Harlequin Romances and this book reminded me of an Uber Sexy Harlequin. Mari was too nice. Nico turned to her when his life imploded. He took her virginity without protection and when she fell pregnant he was not decent or man enough to entertain the possibility that the baby was his. Yes, his first wife Cheated on him and lied about being pregnant and yes his doctor said he was not fertile.... but even with those circumstances he was a douche bag for not listening. She sent letters, first pictures....more than he deserved...Then four years later he meets the daughter he denied and realizes that she looks just like him. He has the nerve the nerve I say to be angry because Mari didn’t try harder to make him realize that he had fathered a child. I wanted to hit him over the head with a blunt object. He then blackmailed her into marrying him......Still being dominating and inflexible. There was a happily ever after but he didn’t really deserve it.

Disappointed in the character development ❌❌❌
I tried and tried, but the one-sidedness of the relationship just got me wrong. Not until past 90% of the book did the H finally come around character wise. NO THANK YOU!I wound up skipping parts because they were honestly so toxic without seeming to be any light at the end of the tunnel.Would not recommend.

Even the strongest fall week
The perfect love story. I love Nico and Mari. I see where readers have complained about Mari being to weak no backbone. I see it like this. Nico was her first crush first love first everything. Come on you guys you can't say we haven't been weak like this before more ways than one. Plus she was young naive etc.But anyway it's sad how one failed relationship can turnish the next. Nico and Mari were ment to be together. Everyone knew she loved him but him. I did respect him at some point for acknowledging he would be no good for her at the moment of the divorce he was going through. Some of this story had pieces could have been avoided. Mari was just to weak when it came to Nico. But he was so controling. But i love the fact he did not have sex for the years apart from her. I really love this part of the book. I wish his ex would have found out about Alexa his daughter. She was plastering everywhere he was sterile. I wanted to see the outcome of her on that behalf. Then Richard omg i love him already even though he only was in the book little. He was a loyal friend.5🌠⭐

It was ok!!
Mari and Nico’s story was interesting. An ok read. Very predictable and Nico came across a little one dimensional. Too caveman than alpha. The remaining books in the this is much better.
