For the price and the compactness this is a great portable CD etc. player. Sounds great and easy to use.

I have bought, sampled and returned a lot of portable boomboxes over the last few months for various issues regarding sound quality, workmanship and ease of use. I believe that this current purchase has hit the sweet spot and will fill the bill. I ordered this Nextron boombox late Friday night and it was on doorstep at 4:30 A.M. Thank you Amazon for the fastest delivery ever for am order I placed - way to go! Before I critique each function of this unit, some general observations. The sound quality and volume are surprisingly good for such a small unit. The speakers really do deliver and the bass boost does add a definite extra punch to the sound no matter what function you choose and give more depth and richness to the sound as well. The controls are easy to use and easily accessible, a good thing since this product does not come with a remote. This boombox comes with a telescopic antenna - more on that shortly. The unit is lightweight without batteries but not featherweight - in other words it is sturdily built of hard plastic so I expect it to last on that basis alone. There are two color choices - black or white. I chose the black. Don't generally like white for a music system. Now for the individual functions - I have not yet used the USB so I cannot comment on that. 1) Radio. You have both AM and FM. Please use the antenna as the reception in general is good but not flawless. This of course will partly depend on where you live - however in the NYC area where I live the FM reception depends on how I place the unit and where. If in the right spot it is perfect. Otherwise there will be static. The AM reception is not impressive at all but this is less of a bother for me as I only listen to one AM station for traffic and weather. So FM over AM. The AM/FM selector is a switch on the right side, the radio selector proper is on the left side and the station knob is on the top right of the unit. Operating the radio is easier than it sounds. 2) CD player. This unit comes with a top loading CD player. To activate this function move the switch on the left of the unit to CD. The LCD screen will flash NO. When this happens gently open the the CD door by pushing the door down on the lower right corner and put the CD in. Be careful with the CD door as the door opens only a short way up not giving much space for the CD to go in. One should get used to this though. Also make sure the door shuts completely as it tends to stay open with too little pressure - just be gentle. I must mention that while the CDs I have used generally play with no issues there is a skipping problem when two or more tracks are too close together. The very end of the first track is clipped off and the next track begins. I have had this issue on all the players I have tried so I will just live with this - I also wish to mention that my CD's are clean and scratch free. This will bother some more than others depending on whether CDs are still a part of your life. One unusual feature with the CD player is that the track number and track timing alternate every few seconds on the screen rather than showing both together at the same time. Have never seen this before but there is a first for everything I suppose including this. Bluetoooth - no complaints here. Synched to my phone effortlessly and the sound is great One puzzling aspect of this unit is that the LCD screen is not backlit so it is very hard to read it in dim light. Why this has been overlooked is a mystery - considering the price point of this system having a backlight should have been a no-brainer. I also agree with a reviewer regarding the green sticker on the CD door. Aesthetically odd but I will not remove it for obvious reasons. There is a manual included so just read through it before use and you should be fine. So I recommend this Nextron boombox as a reliable purchase. It is not perfect but the best I have personally come across. Sound is fine with the above reservations re the radio. The volume is sufficiently loud for an average residence. If you want blow the roof off though get a system costing several times more. The Nextron does what it is supposed to do and does it quite well.

Good price, works great, very compact CD+Am&FM radio! Picks up stations well, very good sound on CD. Only poor design is main on/off/CD button is tiny tiny slider on left side as you face it. Hard to find, hard to operate, & just damn frustratingly inconvenient. I had to paste a big white tag on side to remind for my wife & I grumble myself every time I use it. So otherwise 100% great, but the on/off side slider switch is just dumb damn design.

Considering the price of the product, the sound quality is reasonable there is a base boost, but I’ve heard deeper base from smaller systems but it’s really not a bad sounding system. Nice and portable lightweight a little heavier when you put 6C batteries in it but still doable in my personal opinion, the Bluetooth was a little muffled but very satisfied considering the price I would recommend this unit. Siri play back is crisp and clear radio is pretty good although I really don’t listen to the radio. I live in the urban area so I had no problem picking up radio stations.

Reception is fantastic, sound is decent base button adds some base good enough for my liking. Digital tuner tunes one number at a time. Has charging port and Bluetooth I haven't tried yet but sure I will like it when I do to listen to anything I can get on my phone.

This is a perfect size and weight. Easy to carry and use. This is quite an upgrade from my 50+ year-old AM/FM radio! And I love the CD player since these days there are no CD players in your car, now I can listen to CDs easily at home

THIS CD BOOMBOX IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! It deserves a million stars!!! I purchased it for a radio talk show I like to listen to every day. The radios I have had in the past would not pick up the two local stations I listen to. I have actually bought 2-3 the past few years, but they absolutely just did not work. However, this Nextron picks them up PERFECTLY AND VERY CLEARLY!!! Just as clear as when in the car. This is a national talk show; however, I prefer to listen to the local stations as opposed to an app or the internet because with the local stations, the commercials are locally – not prerecorded audio that is boring and of no interest. I also purchased this Nextron so I can listen to Christmas music via CD’s almost year round (yes - it’s okay to listen to Christmas music all year long - :-). And before I even received my Nextron from Amazon, the seller Emailed me detailed information on the directions/specs. This Nextron is amazing quality. I researched many different models; however, this one had the best specs and reviews. It is also of modern design, black and just the perfect size. Does not take up a lot of space if you want to leave it out all the time, as I do. I have not used the USB plug or bluetooth, but I am sure they work just as well as the radio and CD player. This Nextron reminds me of the old Sony version from many years ago, but this one has more features. This is also extremely important -- in the event of an emergency if your power goes out and your cell phone is out of battery (we live in an area that has a lot of trees and this does happen from time to time), this Nextron will work with 6 C batteries. And, in the event your power does go out, I can highly recommend this lantern that I purchased (several) from Amazon. It is actually brighter than a regular light bulb. Takes 4 D batteries. Je suis très satisfaite de mon achat, exactement ce que je cherchais pour mon petit atelier d’art. Fabrication de qualité, facile d’utilisation, peut être branché au mur, ou peut être utilisé avec des piles en cas de panne d’électricité, ou pour apporter en pique-nique. Le son est très bon pour un si petit appareil. Il est compact et léger, capte bien mes postes de radio préférés, lecteur CD efficace, et avec la fonction Bluetooth je peux y faire jouer ma playlist de mon cellulaire, et même répondre à un appel via mon boombox. I picked up this Portable CD Player Bluetooth Boombox primarily to preview mixes before I use them in my promos, and it’s been excellent for that purpose. It gives me a clear, honest representation of the sound without being overly colored, so I can quickly tell how a mix will translate in a typical listening environment. A qualidade sonora certamente não é o forte deste aparelho, mesmo com o botão BASS acionado. O design também não é nenhum primor; falta identidade. Os controles são bons, ao nível do aparelho. No modo rádio, a sintonia é bem interessante mas depende do lugar da casa para sintonizar mais ou menos emissoras. O visor LCD atende o básico do básico mesmo; minúsculo e com caracteres para que tem boa visão. Produto importando, com custo bem alto para o pouco que entrega. Se pudesse testar antes de comprar, certamente não compraria. Não valeu a pena!

Good product. Surprising good sound for such a small machine. Way better than the Sharp one we bought (and immediately returned) from Best Buy.
