I figured out a way to make it work, but the package says this is for hanging dishes 8" - 11". My dish was 10" and let me say there was absolutely NO way this would fit anything larger than 9". Just trying to mount it to my dish would result in the brackets bending and flying off.This is the first time I've ever used one of these, so the only saving grace may be if I was supposed to know the fix I ultimately found. The thing is this is not mentioned anywhere on the packaging or directions.You need to stretch the springs so that they are permanently loose enough to fit the dish. This is the ONLY way to get it to fix (unless you maybe add another spring). Then, because I very much doubted the ability of the brackets to hold onto the dish in case the springs happen to retighten (it having failed and bent before I stretched the springs), I used pliers to bend the tips that grip onto the dish to hold onto the dish more secure.

Product design pictured does NOT match product received. Item's received design has shorter springs & brackets don't have retaining loops to secure spring end loops. but did work with effort. I'm miffed because I paid extra for the specific pictured design as advertised in attached photos comparison. I feel like I'm a victim of bait and switch situation. Amazon should knock a couple of bucks for the flub.

Plate hanger sent was not constructed/desiged in the same way as the one pictured (Rocky Mountain Goods). But the good news is the one sent (ProSource), is a better design and holds the plate more securely.
