Boy from the wrong side of the tracks meets good girl
I haven't read anything my Julie Kriss before and after reading Buyer Beware, this won't be my last. After seeing that it was a girl meets boy from the wrong side of the tracks book, I expected it to be run of the mill and while it was a bit predictable, I really enjoyed it. The writing was good enough to stop it from falling into the trap of blending into other similar books. Emily and Luke hooked up over summer break when they finished school, ending the tryst with her going to college and him leaving town. Their time together was kept a secret between them as he was from a disjointed, poor and rough family and she was the straight A daughter of a popular police officer. Circumstances have Emily unwillingly having to return home to help her sister with her shop and her association with Luke is rekindled. While Emily moves in with her parents, she senses that not all is good at home with her family. Luke has his own troubles going on as his father has been sent to prison and he is left taking over his garage that has the potential to have him rooming with his dad in jail.I really liked Luke. He wasn't insipid, nor a jerk alpha, while being a strong, swoon-worthy male lead. He had his own baggage, but was likeable. His relationship with his family members was fragmented and it was refreshing to read a book where not everything was sunshine and rainbows. Emily was likeable overall. My only hangup was that she didn't want to be seen with Luke in public, which kind of decreased his self-value and made her a bit of a snob. She wasn't an outright cow, though, so I warmed up to her eventually.I found the writing good and the plot fluid. The story line had enough going that I was interested throughout the book and sucked in enough to their world that I'll want to read the next book. It was a feel good story.

The boys are back in town!
Luke Riggs and his brothers are the bad boys from the wrong side of town. Their father has a reputation and so by association, they have felt the town’s wrath. Growing up and fending for themselves, has not been easy, but somehow they have managed to survive. When Luke Riggs hooks up with Emily Parker, the daughter of the top cop, they both know they have to keep the relationship a secret. A summer of fun, until Emily leaves for College and Luke takes to the road. Eight years later, Luke is called back to run his father’s automobile repair shop, and Emily is called back to help her sister. When their paths cross again, they can’t help the attraction they still feel for one another. Luke has grown up and realises there is something very wrong with the way his father’s shop has been run. Is there time to sort it out, while the cops are watching his every move? Can Luke be the man for Emily or will her mother make sure that Luke lands up in Jail with his father? Can Emily come clean and show the world what Luke means to her, or will she be shallow and pretend she does not know him? I devoured this book in a few hours. It was fast-paced and packed with action and rising climax. I loved Luke and thought his character was great. I had a hard time with Emily, I thought she was shallow and it took me a while to warm up to her. The author did a great job of redeeming her. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading more about the rest of the Rigg brothers.Reviewed for Hot books and Sassy Girls book blog

Luke & Emily’s story...
This author is new to me but once I started this book, it was hard to put down. It is a fairly quick read and I feel this dire need to read the other brothers books now. Ugh I also seem to be experiencing a bit of a book hangover right now.Luke and Emily are some of the BEST characters I have read in awhile. They felt like real people, living life in their beautifully flawed way. Ugh SO GOOD! They were secret high school lovers that come back home after 8 years to help their families.Luke is amazing. I am so glad he has his brothers even if their relationships are somewhat non-traditional due to a childhood filled with poverty and what I see as abused at the hand of their father. Eek that guy needs to be hurt in a slow painful way in my opinion. Anyway, I love how this author really shows how marginalizing someone because of who and where they come from is a huge disservice to that person. Yep feeling a little broken hearted for the way Luke and his brothers were viewed and treated. So wrong.Emily (deep breath) this girl is a hoot. I love her. She is emotional, smart, and a little bit cray cray at times. Yes she has a sweetness to her but I really love all her idiosyncrasies even more. She has come home feeling a bit dejected because professionally her life hasn’t turned out like she wanted. I love experiencing her reconnecting with Luke and acknowledging the feelings she left behind. Her desire to appreciate, understand, and protect Luke was portrayed so wonderfully in this story.Definitely loved experiencing all the swoon worthy moments with this couple and their journey of self discovery as individuals and a couple. I can’t wait to read the rest of the Riggs Brother books. Wink!Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO

Delicious & Sweet!
There's so much I love about this story, let me begin with the narrators as I've listened to it on audio. They do a great job, especially the female MC is super cute, sexy and sassy but the male is awesome as well. They really bring story and characters to life. The story itself is so well written with so much wit and sass but there are also heartfelt moments when you just want to church at your chest. Yeah, I actually did. I loved this book and the audio version is just great, a real treat. Totally recommend it! 💕🥰💕

Wowzers, I'm loving this authors books
I am most pleased to announce that Julie Kriss is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. Not only that, she’s also an author whose books I want to read over and over. And this book, Drive me Wild, only reinforces this love for her books. I only finished it day before yesterday but already I want to read it again, savouring it but I have the next book in the series that I’ve just started reading. It was a tough call, rereading this one or moving on and then going back. I went with Option #2.Luke Riggs and Emily Parker were teenage lovers. Her mother is a decorated cop and his father is a no good scoundrel and the Riggs family is from the wrong side of the tracks and looked down on by the town as losers and troublemakers. But there was something about Luke that had Emily wanting him and she went after him. He obliged. Both knew because of their position it would be short lived. Emily was headed to college and Luke is on his way out of town to get away from the prejudice he lives with. The book opens eight years later. Emily has bombed in her efforts to establish a career and when her twin sister asks for help, she came back to town. Luke is also newly back. His father is in jail and of the four brothers, Luke is the only one in a position to take over at the family auto shop. He doesn’t want to, he hates his father, but obligation wins out. They run into each other again after all these years when Emily’s car breaks down almost in front of Luke and he offers to fix it for her. The attraction is just as wild and strong as it was when they were teenagers and it’s not long before Emily goes sniffing after Luke again.I’ll be honest. I wasn’t sure if I’d like Emily or not. The first go around, she treated Luke like he was her dirty little secret, good enough to hook up with but heavens forbid anyone find out that she’s involved with him. And when they connect again, she has the same kind of attitude. And since the book is told in first person, from both Luke and Emily’s POV, we know that Luke is a real decent guy, with feelings. A guy who doesn’t want to be judged because of his family but because of who he is. And I felt quite protective of Luke and didn’t want Emily using him. While he was away all those years, he discovers his dear old dad has gotten involved in car-jacking and Luke is horrified and determines to end it. He calls his brothers and between them they make plans to end it. And it’s during this time that Emily realizes she has treated Luke badly in the past and is starting off on the wrong foot this time around and now she’s willing to risk the talk that would go on. And since she does, she’s totally redeemed in my eyes.I loved everything about this book. Luke is a simply amazing hero. He’s very honourable and treats Emily with a great deal of respect. While he doesn’t like the way she’s treated him, he totally gets why she does and doesn’t really expect anything else and I found that kind of sad – thus my protectiveness over a fictional character in a romance novel. And once Emily ‘saw the light’. I really enjoyed her too. I put her earlier attitude down to immaturity. She’s a bit of a prickly kind of gal but Luke really likes that about her.And I love the relationship between the four brothers. They were raised by an abusive father and there was no closeness between any of them but now as adults they are tentatively reaching out to each other. I can see this growing as the books go on.I give this book a high five and a coveted A rating. As I said, I’ve started the next book and so far it’s just as good as this one.

Awesome Read!
This is the first of Julie's books I've read and I can't wait to read more! Her characters are fully rounded right from the start and you feel like you've known them forever. The banter between the brothers feels real, both good and bad. You can feel their love for one another even under all the apathy and bad blood.Luke & Emily are both extremely likable characters and can't wait to see what their futures hold.
