A great head for either side of a bass drum
I much prefer a dry punchy sound from my bass drum. After testing several, I’ve found the Evans Calftone head helps me attain exactly what I’m looking for in a bass drum. Whether used on the front, beater side or both. This head does it, no matter what size bass drum I’m using.

Very Pleased
I use this as a versatile head on a 14x24. It has a nice soft, round sound when played softly and then speaks/cracks nicely when you lean in a little. The sound control is subtle and I wound up adding a small blanket in the shell but there's still enough roundness for riding the fours in swing drumming. One star off for slow shipping.

This Will Get You "The Look," and Sounds Good!
Looks great! Cheaper than the Fiberskyn, basically the same, as far as I can tell. I cut the port hole with the Gibraltar port hole cutter (the Calftone heads are laminated with at least two layers, so cutting is slightly challenging, but doable). I'm not a drummer, this is my studio kit. I have an Aquarian Modern Vintage head with the glued-in felt strip on the batter head. Kick sounds great! I haven't had it for too long, and haven't played the kick a ton in that timeframe, so can't really speak to durability.

Makes bass drum go boom
Works great on my Ludwig club date bass drum. 360 collar is cool.Makes the drum go boom. What else can you want ?

Great tone on vintage drums!
I swapped out a VERY old worn out coated head for this on my 1965 Ludwig Super Classic bass drum and BOOM! What a great tone! Sounds really good with a ported EQ3 front head and EQ pillow or nothing inside.

Great as reso on kick, a nice Fat Thud.
It tamed the ring out of my Gretsch Catalina 18" bass drum, as a resonant head.Finger tight, plus 1/4 turn of the lugs did it.Fat Thud.Bought tom batters of the same head, and they were a struggle.Ringy, hard to tune, hard sounding tone, I could never get them to a usable place.Tried differing resos, and tried the Calftones as resos, under pinstripes.Nothing worked.I moved on to Evans Hydraulic Glass.All is well.

Unfortunately, this head came out of round and the rim would not fit properly over the head.
To make matters worse I had applied a custom graphic on the head before I attempted to install it on the drum….now the money spent on the graphic is also wasted.

Evans Calftone EQ4 - 18"
First off, be careful you select the right one. I picked the EMAD model but the pictures and title said EQ4 and after ordering I did receive an EQ4 but I'm not unhappy - this thing is amazing. I put it on a Tama Club Jam and man it gave it so much warmth and depth, despite being such a small kit. Highly recommend the Calftone EQ4

El sonido regular porque pedí dos parches y solo me mandaron uno así q solo pude probarlo con otro parche de plástico malo , pinta bien pero no lo sé.
