This is a sharp looking, relatively light and reasonably sized scale - I love it!It arrived in a secure box with tight packaging (next to no wasted space), with the necessary batteries included. It also arrived fully calibrated, which, after struggling to calibrate other older models scales in the past, I was quite happy to discover.I purchased this for baking, especially at Christmas, as many of my family baking recipes call for certain weights of ingredients (yes, I still make fruitcakes!). This will be much easier this year, especially with the tare function allowing for quick weighs without a lot of additional math.The scale comes with a clear and concise manual, however, even before reading the manual I had the basics figured out. It's very easy to use, very intuitive - I am not sure how they could have made it easier. Basically, keep hitting the Mode button to find the unit of measurement you are looking for.The large blue LED screen is crisp and clear and very easy to read. The scale powers on immediately after touching the button, and you can either power it down by holding the button again or allowing it to power down itself after a moment or two of no use.This scale is capable of weighing up to 22 pounds which is probably something most people don't need but it's nice to know if there were something you needed to weigh that is a bit heavier than the average serving of food you can weigh it.We have an old kitchen scale at home and so to know if this one was accurate I weighed foods on both. What I found is that they gave me almost identical measurements. This scale is a very nice looking scale. I have left this one out sitting on my counter because it looks so nice.

This is just what I wanted. I like the ability to put a bowl or cup on the scale then zero it out so I get an accurate reading on whatever I'm weighing. It doesn't take up much room, but it is a workhorse. It is solidly built, with easy-to-read display and the controls are simple and easy to understand. This would fit in a drawer so it wouldn't take up much space on the counter, which in my small kitchen is a plus.

It is a nice scale that reads pretty accurate. Large enough to set a dinner plate on it and be able to read the weight and reach the buttons. I gave it 4 stars because it lags a little in measuring. When trying to get an exact measurement you have to go a little slow with liquids and dry ingredients.

I have been using the scale for a few days and this has been the perfect thing for me right now because I have just started dieting and exercising more this month. I noticed that since I have been using this scale it has helped me for portion control. I am now getting better at eating the right amount because I wasn't good at measuring the right portion unless I used a measuring cup or so but that doesn't work for things that have to be weighed.I would recommend this because it seems to be very accurate when weighing certain foods. Some of the best things about this scale is that you are able to subtract the weight of the container you are holding the foods in. The scale is lightweight and beautiful in the design. You can weigh in different measurements such as grams, ounces pounds and more.

The scale seems to work fine, but the face of the scale was scratched and bubbled. If I purchase something new I like it to look that way.

This stopped working after sitting unused for a couple of months. Used maybe 3 times and stored in original box. Tried new batteries. It comes on and won't shut-off or weigh in any mode. We've had it too long to return via Amazon. It claims a lifetime guarantee but there it came with no contact info. Tried googling the sender "Hot Target" in Las Vegas but it isn't on-line. Easy to promise a lifetime guarantee when you aren't reachable.

Nice scale but it didn't measure as accurately as expected.

Perfect scale for coffee and cooking!I was looking for a great scale to use for cooking and my Chemex coffee carafe and found just that in the Hot Target Kitchen Food Scale. The scale is super elegant and the perfect size for my bowls, Chemex and Pyrex measuring cups. It's very accurate and reads increments as small as 1gram. It has basic features like tarring or zeroing out the scale so you can subtract the weight of your cup or container before weighing your food or coffee. You can switch between, ounces, grams, pounds and kilograms. It looks great in our kitchen and is very easy to use. I've tried a bunch of scales and this is my favorite at the moment.
