Work Great to Keep a 7' Baitcasting Combo Afloat
Use these while kayak fishing instead of rod leashes. This size is capable of floating a 7' baitcasting rod and reel. There is a downside in the float's velcro closure getting in the way of the line at times and sliding up and down the rod, but using them is less of a hassle than a leash.

Fishing from a Kayak
This year was the first time I went camping in a touring Kayak. I bought these and wondered if they would practically work for my fishing rods and surprisingly, they worked just fine. I tested them a few times in the lake (intentionally) to see if they would float if I ever had a problem and went over. My biggest fear was rolling in the kayak and all my gear (that I've acquired over many years) going to the bottom of the lake. This cheap little float made sure that my rods wouldn't take a dive, even if I did. They don't interfere with my casting or reeling, as I wondered - and depending on where you attach them, they do tend to slide about a bit - but it's a small sacrifice for assurance that your gear will be on the surface if you go in the drink.

Gray color ?
This float works. I added a zip tie in the middle to keep it from sliding up rod after a number of casts. I take off a star because one of the three is gray in color making it difficult to see in the water during day and impossible at night. Take out the gray one!

Fits great and good price
Hope I never need to find out how it works if a big fish pulls my rod in. much easier than using tether lines.

Essential for kayakers!
I got these because I am a kayak fisherman and I've lost plenty of pliers, but not a pole (yet)! With these, I'll never lose the pole. I tested them to make sure and they indeed float. There's only a couple of things that bother me a little bit, but it's just the nature of the product that probably couldn't be improved. It's easy to get hooks caught on it, but they're easy to remove. It also takes a little bit of adjusting to put into my stand-up rod holder at home. Again, not deal-breakers by any means. For the price, you can't beat it. It will save you a lot of $$ in lost rods and reels!

Seemed good at first......
These seemed like they could be great but i just found them annoying. Yes they will save your rod from sinking but what kept happening is my line would get caught on them after i cast or when i reel in to the point where i just took them off. I might use them on some other gear somehow but wont be using them on my rods. I think if they had a smooth texture and better straps it might prevent the braided line from sticking to it.

Saved my $650 rig and the Calico bass that was hooked to it
I had to give this product a review, because it saved my Avet LX 2speed on a shimanoTallus Rod. I fish on a jetski and normally I strap all by gear to my rod holders with leashes. But that can be a real pain constantly strapping them and unstrapping them and getting tangled up. So I gave up on the straps, but still wanted some kind of protection in case a rod went overboard. Anyway, I had these on my gear and honestly I didn't have a great deal of hope that it would work for my heavier gear. I was trolling along when I got hit really hard, I must have had my drag set too high, my Railblaza rod holder broke off and my rod went flying up in the air and in the water. I turned around and I saw that my rod was floating and bobbing up and down like a bobber. I rode back picked up my rod and the 15" Calico Bass was still on the line. I was shocked and super grateful I had this on my rod. I highly recommend these for any Kayak or Jetski fisherman out there.

Cheap “insurance” for your investment
Purchased upon recommendation by a fellow kayak angler to be able to recover my investment (rod and reel) in the event my rod and reel ended up in the water. Two days after installing on my rods, one of my rods come out of the rod holder after my kayak was rocked by a large wake from a passing fishing boat. I witnessed first hand as the float kept my rod from sinking allowing me to easily recover it after the water settled from the wake. Very grateful to product! A few bucks spent on this product saved hundreds! Also purchased equipment tie downs for added security for my rods.
