OK. I was sceptical! I believe not all cats are susceptible to them. But my psycho Jekyll & Hyde cat has really benefited from them.It took about 20 minutes to turn him from flesh thirsty to a smoochy-pudding-pot! (It also takes about the same amount of time to wear off, if like us you are lulled in to a false sense of security… you’ll soon be reaching for it again!).Our problem cat is scratching the carpet much much less, hasn’t bitten any of the humans in the house for 4 days!!! Is generally much more chilled. These collars actually stopped us from re-homing him! They’re cheap to!The cons:They smell REALLY strongly of Lavender, I actually felt my cat might have been a bit depressed wearing it at first, but a week later and the smell is reduced. He does smell like a granny’s knicker draw, but we can live with that.The securing system seems to be strong enough to hold (we’ve not had need to test the emergency snap facility) although my cat will happily tolerate collars, so it’s not been under a true cat pro-‘test’.For us it worked. I figure it’s not a huge price tag to work out if your cat is susceptible or not. When we purchase again though, we feel it would be worth upgrading to the expensive Sentry brand imported from America which has 6% pheromones (and hopefully less smell).

I have a cat who sprays and shows agitated and stress behaviour. Used this collar multiple times. Lasts around a month then needs replacing to benefit from affects. It calms him within minutes and is a completely different cat. I will continue to buy these every month, (2 pack is good value for money).

I could not see the effect.

I bought this quite cynically, but hopeful based on the reviews. I have a very spicy cat from Battersea. After almost 2 yrs with me she still hissed at me and doesn't like any contact. The collar straight away seemed to calm her. Maybe only by 50% but that is huge for us both. I get cuddles, more affection and she often comes and sits with me.Lasted about 6-8 weeks then changed it. Smells a bit like my Nana, but OK. Will definitely be buying again

We initially put this on our female cat that was urinating constantly out of the litter tray- and this collar actually worked. Even around our other 2 boy cats she was calmer, less shouty than normal and she seemed to generally be more calmer around people.About a week in she got caught on the back of a dining chair and was was hanging from it- the ‘safety’ part of the collar didn’t break as it should. If we hadn’t have heard the commotion I don’t know what would have happened to her.We decided to continue with the collar, but cut it at the thinner parts of the safety section to make it more vulnerable to break if she should ever get caught again. (Should have just taken it straight off at this point!!!) A few days later we came home to find she had managed to get her jaw locked under the collar (it was fitted as recommended) Even with us cutting it to make it weaker, it didn’t give way.This collar works perfectly in calming, but the design is dangerous and could potentially harm your cat. If this had a proper safety catch system like normal collars it would work perfectly.We ended up purchasing a normal fabric safety collar and spraying it with feliway each day which has had the same effect.

My friend's cat was a bedraggled stray and was very nervous around people. Once she had gained his confidence she got him one of these collars - what a difference! A changed animal. He is still cautious when I let myself into her house but as soon as he knows who it is he is all over me - up in my arms, nudging my face, letting me stroke and tickle him all over (except his tail). As it has a lovely lavender perfume and not at all chemical he can get as close to my nose as he wants! He will even sit at a distance and watch the front door when anyone else calls.When he starts to get nervous we know it is time to change the collar - the effects should last 8 months but we have found it lasts longer.

I really blame myself for not having fully read the ingredients in this collar. It contains Lavender at nearly 90% content, and Lavender as all cats owners should be aware is toxic to cats.I have a very over exuberant tortoiseshell cat. She never stops. It's tiring so I was looking for something that had good reviews which would help and work to calm her down - given that brand name calming spot on does not work, neither do the brand name calming treat chews nor the diffusers.I wondered why my 1 year and 4 month old cat started to appear drugged, tired eyed and lethargic within about 30 minutes of me putting this on her neck. I have now come to believe that the nice, calming effect this is having on many of the cats mentioned in these reviews, is because of the possible toxicity of the lavender in the collar. The moment that I took the collar off, she came around within about 15 minutes. I wiped her neck down with cat wet wipes to remove all traces of the collar.It smells nice and the price is good, but the fear of potentially poisoning my cat is just too great for me to continue using it... alongside the fact that it says very boldly that it is made in China where health and safety issues are not as stringent as in the UK.

Worked brilliantly. My Siamese is so calm now and stopped spraying indoors. Thankfully!! Much cheaper option than the plug ins and very effective
