The instruction manual could have been better organized. For instance
Defenders of the Last Stand is a cooperative game for up to 5 players that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. The Rangers (players) must work together to defeat invading raiders and monstrosities. Rangers may get artifacts and special abilities/companions to help in the fight by adventuring, scavenging and gaining karma.People who have played Pandemic and/or Defenders of the Realm should find the cooperative aspect familiar.Pros:Numbering the locations on the board (and describing locations with both the location name and number) helps in finding where to add/move enemies.Scavenging, adventuring, mutating and gaining karma provide multiple ways for players to improve their Rangers.Adventuring and sabotage provide additional ways to injure and/or kill enemy leaders. The enemy leader miniatures are much bigger than their minions (and therefore easier to identify).Scenarios (only 3 at this time) provide greater variety in game play.Cons:The instruction manual could have been better organized. For instance, which actions can be undertaken in a location with enemies (and which cannot) is pretty much scattered around but could have been summarized in one place. There's a discrepancy between the rule book and the rule card for one of the scenarios. The miniatures for the game are pretty flimsy (motorcycle handlebars break off very easily) and look cheap. There are only 5 Rangers to choose from (the Kickstarter version has more).Cons aside, I've really enjoyed playing this game.

Mel Gibson as a Game.
Perfect for 1 or more players, this game makes you feel on your edge at all times, but never overwhelmed to the point of despair. Vivid theme, excellent components, rock solid.
