based on your question, I'd ask your vet first regarding what actual type of 'fungal paw sores' your pet has and see what your vet prescribes. To open ended question for me to say if this product works for your situation. If yeast skin infection, possible but if your vet's medicine is too expensive, then see what other products you can purchase once you run out of the vet's medicine. Hope this makes sense. btw: I use several levels of different products besides Zymox for 2 of my pets skin allergies. It seems to help them with my mixture once a day dab on their hot spots. I also use Zymox shampoo and conditioner for dogs, and Malaseb shampoo. Follow directions. Makes coats soft and clean.

Does it clear up canine acne?

Well, I found it did clear up irritations. Perhaps it would work on acne. I checked with my vet on whether it was safe for daily use and she said it was, but I'm going with the lowest dose just in case. I think it would be worth a try.

Can this be used for hot spot on dogs

My Sheltie developed some kind of a skin problem that definitely resembled "hot spots" and I used this on him and they cleared up in just a few days. I found out he is allergic to most dog foods and we had to switch to a "Sensitive Stomach" brand by Nutro. Between the Zymox Spray and changing his diet, we have all those skin issues now under control.
