Very nice! I previously had been using a vintage Lady ...
Very nice! I previously had been using a vintage Lady Gilette from the 60s. I really liked that one, because it's cute and vintage and I like vintage things. I also like the history that it was the first razor ever made for and marketed to women. However, as much as I tried to mess around with different blades, it was a uncomfortable shave and I always got little nicks around my inside shins. I wasn't willing to mess around with expensive soaps and shave brushes and all that. After struggling with that one long enough, my fiance bought me this one for my birthday and it shaves SO much nicer! It just glides! I have to do so little work. It's also cute :). As much as I think it's cool that I use a typically "manly" razor, I also want it to show my feminine style. Two drawbacks: the shaft is so smooth that it does get slippery. I have to be extra careful, which I probably should be anyway. Also, I am still not sure how I feel about the screw-open top to get the blade in and out. The Lady Gilette had a twist-to-open feature, so there were no separateable parts. That made it more difficult to clean, but easier to open if I needed to flip the blade in the shower. With this one, I'm standing there in the shower trying to hold two separate pieces plus a blade. I guess I could just try not to do that in the shower, but it's just breaking habits! Overall, I love it and it's a great experience!

Perfect for women and men
This is a fantastic safety razor for women! I love the long handle, as it gives me more precision, and helps me use the weight of the tool to get the right angle every time. This DE safety razor has a screw top that securely holds the blade in place, so I never have to worry about the blade moving. I can shave every area of my body comfortably, with ease, and without any razor bumps. My husband also loves using this for his face and he loves the longer length of the handle. It works really well with him. I would recommend a sharper blade for the face like a Gillette Silver Blue, Astra Platinum, or Feather blade. I can get away with cheap Sharks for my legs, pits, and bikini area- I just use a new blade when working with sensitive areas. Fantastic beginner's razor, and perfect for women. Highly recommend

Female First-Time Safety Razor, Highly Recommend
I typically avoid shaving my legs when they won't be seen. Not because I'm lazy or hate shaving, but because replacement cartridges are so expensive! I have naturally thick hair - great for my head, not for the rest of my body - and a single full shave will dull a brand new 5-blade cartridge to the point of uselessness. Waxing is financially out of the question right now, and a straight razor is a daunting prospect, so the safety razor it is! I did a lot of research trying to find the best razor in my price range and the best blades for a confident beginner, and I landed on this razor with Astra blades (that is until I feel comfortable enough to use a sharper blade). First off, the crafstmanship is beautiful. It's clearly a well-made product, and I'll update later if it doesn't hold up to the test of time and a humid bathroom, but I doubt that'll be the case. I ordered the long handle, and I'm glad I did, because it still feels a bit short when I'm reaching for my ankles. I would have preferred longer, but I suppose that would have thrown off the weight balance, which was already a little imbalanced for my taste. The handle could be a little lighter, or the head a little heavier, but that might upset the integrity of the design, so I'm happy overall. I was able to compensate for the imbalance with a little light pressure. I will say though, for someone who shaves in the bathtub with wet hands, the grip was severely lacking in... well, grip. The surface of the handle was too smooth to feel immediately confident about holding it without slipping, and I would definitely prefer a textured grip instead, but I thankfully didn't have any real issues keeping hold of it with a blade against my skin. Overall, very comfortable to use. I got a little overconfident after my legs and went for the bikini area with a little too much gusto, which left a few nicks, but after I slowed down, I was able to go full Brazilian my first time with a safety razor! I'll still have to replace the blade after every shave, but the price of individual loose blades is so much more reasonable, and they're so much more convenient to store. Overall very satisfied with my purchase, and I highly recommend for other women looking for an alternative to eco-unfriendly disposable cartridges and the pink tax.

Awesome Razor.
I wasn't so sure about spending so much for a shaver but I am glad I did. I will never go back to a multi blade shaver again. Since I have used this my shaves are so clean and smooth. I don't have to go over and over or shave every day like before. I found some videos on youtube about ladies shaving with a safety razor. You really just let the weight of the razor do the work without adding pressure. It is nice and heavy. You spend more time building your lather for shaving. As long as my hands are wet but not soapy I do not lose my grip. I am quite please with the quality of this razor and feel it was worth the switch. I shave all areas and no issues at all. Of course practice..... I only nicked myself once for being lazy and not using the shaving soap. I was in a hurry and I won't repeat that mistake again. Other than that once you switch I doubt you will go back. It does require a little more prep and takes a little more time. As you get used to it and perfect your style, you really won't take as long.

Effectiveness: 5/5 – Works well and hasn’t fallen apart yet with over a year of use. Price: $$/5 – The price is above average for a safety razor on amazon. Ease of use: 5/5 – Very easy to use and setup; just unscrew, place the razor in, and tighten back up. Quality: 4/5 – The quality is really good. The metal head has a nice weight to it and looks high quality. The plastic also feels and looks high quality. My one complaint is that the provided razors and the internal parts of the safety razor seem to rust easily. Design: 5/5 – The design is great. The weighting feels nice in your hand. It is easy to clean the hairs off. Packaging: 4/5 – Elegant but not very environmentally friendly. Strengths – Effective Weaknesses – Derby razors rust easily Worth the money? – Yes, this is a durable and effective safety razor. Summary: 4.6/5 - Overall, I would recommend getting this safety razor. I have had it for over a year and it still works well and looks new on the outside. The price is a little bit higher than other safety razors on amazon, but it is worth it for the quality of this one. The razor is easy to install all you have to do is unscrew the handle, place the razor in, and tighten it back up. The plastic feels high quality and so does the metal. The design is great, I like the weight of the razor head. The biggest downside to this razor is that the provided derby razors seem to rust easily. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I hope it helps you!! Nein danke! Dieser RASIERER IST EINE WUNDERBARE ALTERNATIVE!! Vielen Dank für dieses ehrliche Produkt!!!!

This is great for a beginner. I was terrified I'd cut myself using a DE razor, but this razor has been really gentle and forgiving. I have not got one nick ever when shaving around my knees or ankles, where I often nick myself with my conventional razor. I like the weight, the razor blade sits securely in it and I LOVE the colour. I wasn't a fan of the blades that came with it, but that's fine.

I haven’t used a safety razor for decades. Growing up is was a single-blade “injection” razor, then the double blade disposable, then the triple (and quintuple) cartridge shavers. Don’t even get me started on the electric shavers! Within the last couple of years I’ve stopped going to a salon for a haircut (too much estrogen & talking and way too much money) and found a very good barber close to my office. That first single blade shave got me hooked! My hand’s not steady enough to maneuver a single blade, but my barber told me that safety razors were making a huge comeback. So he recommended a couple of brands and the Edwin Jagger (Des89lamz) was the first on the list. Easy to hold, good weight (you just need to let the razor do the work— no forcing or extra pressure— just let it glide) and precisely made. The blades supplied were magnificent: super sharp with no burn. I used the Edwin Jagger shaving soap and a badger hair shaving brush (Rocky Mountain Barber Co.). The result? A super smooth and nick-free shave. It felt great (and satisfying) and my wife loved it! Highly recommended!
