Stopped the hesitation
My 2012 Prius 2 with 260,000 miles would hesitate on takeoff once the temperature got over 100 degrees F. in Southern California. (which is every day right now). Then I had a check engine light come on that showed a restricted MAF sensor, I cleared the code but the light came back on. So I took the sensor off and sprayed some CRC MAF sensor cleaner carefully on the wire sensors, let it dry and reinstalled it in the air filter box (easy job), and the light stayed off. However, I have noticed my gas mileage sliding downward this year, so I have also bought new spark plugs, coils and oxygen sensors but I have not installed those yet. So far my car seems to run smoother with the new MAF and it has good takeoffs with no hesitation now, and my gas mileage may have increased a little (it is a little early to tell for sure ), but I notice the power seems slightly less. I am hoping that it is the computer learning the new sensor air/fuel ratio and once it does that it willt fix that problem. The sensor came in a Denso box in a sealed bag, I compared the two sensors and they are Identical except my original sensor has a different number then the new one has, and the new one has a different number then the box it came in has. I believe it is exactly the same as my original though so no worries there. Yes, after over 260,000 mile it was time to freshen up the MAF sensor. Car is running very good but I plan on putting many new parts on it and also plan on cleaning the EGR and also the Hybrid battery fan, I hear these also can lower gas mileage when they become clogged up. So far So good with the new MAF.

Suitable for the 2010 Prius.
An engine error caught fire on my 2010 prius. After scanning the car, there was an error on this sensor, while the car behaved normally. I bought this sensor, it was cheaper than at the auto zone or anywhere else. By changing this sensor, the engine error disappeared, the car also behaved normally. So I can't say anything bad about this sensor.
