6x8" Journal Refill - Handmade Paper by Rustic Ridge, Unlined, Acid Free - 200 pages

It's really yellow toned, but it was the only refills I could find in this size to fit a mossery cover and it serves its purpose for sketching. I wouldn't use this paper with free inks, markers, or paints though.

When I purchased the Rustic Ridge leather journal I purchased 3 of the refills here and am now purchasing more as back up. Each has 200 pages. I appreciate they books are not so tightly bound so I am still able to lay pages flat to write (and not worry about binding breaking) The unlined paper is easier to write in (never been good at staying within the lines.)The journal itself is compact to pack easily in my computer bag for business trips or in my purse....from 'super sized bag' to smaller ones but definitely not a clutch bag carry. Flexible bindings make it easy to lay pages flat to write (don't have to do that 'crack the binding to make it easy to write in) and I can stick a pen in to save my place and the journal strap keeps it closed.As other reviewers note, thick, quality paper with some texture so ink doesn't bleed (and I use fountain pen style ink)I'm not a artist so can't speak to those pros/cons, but cherish a smooth writing pen and have had no issues.Again debating on how many refills to,purchase bc I've tried many journals that sell replacement notebook refills and they.re no longer available.

I purchased the Rustic Ridge refill for evaluation purposes. I would like to get away from the expense of Moleskin sketchbooks if possible. Subjecting the paper to as much as it would encounter on a painting trip to Europe seems like a good way to do it. So far, I have used watercolor, gouache, paint pens, fountain pens with sepia and black inks, gel pens, watercolor and colored pencils. The primary problem any of these media presented was the paper buckles when wet. The media did not penetrate the paper however and the paper was fine after a couple of days. The only penetration that occurred was when I decided to change a red area in a gouache to violet. I did this with watercolor pencils and then burnished. I then had the red paint on the back of the page. Overall I liked the paper and find myself grabbing it instead of other sketch books.

The paper is amazing. I have not used it yet for any drawings but I will be soon. I only gave it a low giftable score because the product I purchased was a refil. I think that if I had purchased one with a nice cover it would be the perfect gift for any writer or artist. Just be sure to let them know where this amazing paper comes from so when they quickly go through it they can purchase more.I also think that the spine should be cloth. The one I have is paper.

Only received 92 pages folded in 1/2. If they counted both sides it’s still only 184 pages. NOT the 300. :( Super bummed.

My son loves these for his journal. They work well with his pens and his left-handed need for quick absorbing so that the ink doesn't smear.

This is a durable,well made product.

These are my goto refills for my leather journal. I spent a long time trying to find really good quality paper at a reasonable price. These are just beautiful to write in.
