What is polyacrylamide and what is left in the soil when it is no longer useful/wears out?

First this product isn't supposed to use this chemical. This is supposed to contain Potassium polyacrylate which is plant safe. A similar 'water gel' Sodium polyacrylate looks and acts the same but is toxic to plants being equivalent to adding table salt to a garden.Polyacrylamide is a similar synthethically produced gel compound with very high hygroscopic properties. In english it's a dry powder that absorbs a lot of water and will release it back as it's surrounding gets dryer. It does not contain either potassium or sodium in the chemical chain.It's used as a commercial soil amendment and can be found in humidity reducing agents and other moisture control products.It's basic composition is an amide which is based on ammonia, and a hydrocarbon. More on that can be found on Wikipedia. The breakdown products are usually ammonia (which degrades to nitrogen), carbon, hydrogen and oxygen (usually as water). BUT, other chemicals in the soil may produce additional compounds as it breaks down so it's impossible to tell exactly what will be left behind. It's considered non toxic but not edible.

Can I somehow add these crystals to the soil in hanging coco baskets that I’ve already planted flowers in?

Are these the same kind of crystals to make cool wraps for around the neck?

This pack has fertilizer too. You are close. Soil moist makes what you are looking for but it is not this particular item.
