Long-lasting and a lifesaver; will buy again
My first experience with this product line wasn't great (more on that below). But the last unit I purchased, in 2011, worked flawlessly until the shaker died a few days ago (Jan 2023). I am absolutely thrilled with the purchase - $45 for an alarm clock, with moving parts, that worked for 12 years over 3 continents? Incredible.I first purchased one of these around 2001 (when the company was Ameriphone). I was not impressed; the bed shaker died once under warranty, then again a few months after the 1-year warranty expired. I switched to Sonic Boom and had similar issues. But there aren't a lot of options for hearing-impaired people, so I was kind of stuck with these two brands. I figured this is just the cost of life with a disability: a new $35 (at that time) shaker every year or two.The company clearly invested in QC after that, because the Wake Assure that I purchased in 2011 has been a tank. The main clock still functions fine, and I can use the audio or lamp settings to wake up. Only the shaker died. Considering that it's an intensely vibrating puck, 12 years of life is more than reasonable. This company won me over as a customer. Highly recommend.

Bed Shaker Alarm Clock
This is a great alarm clock. The name on the clock is Wake Assure by Ameriphone. My last bed shaker was by Ameriphone. This new model is so much better than my old one. It is solid with a weighted base it sits well on the night table. The controls are upfront and simple/easy to use. The shaker and alarm would wake anyone. I am hearing and vision impaired and this alarm clock is a absolute must for me to wake up. The volume and tone are adjustable and the display is big and bold. It has a plug for a light to flash as the audible alarm and bed shaker are activated. I love this clock.

Great alarm clock with variety of features
I love this clock! I don't have any hearing loss or vision loss, but I wanted this clock because I seem to sleep through every alarm out there. The bed shaker is great. I was afraid it'd be too violent right away and jerk me awake but it starts out with a low vibrate and slowly becomes more aggressive. The clock's buzzer is plenty loud for me and I only have the volume up 1/3 of the way. The lamp flasher is my favorite part though. You just plug in a regular lamp to the adapter and then it flashes when the alarm goes off. Simple as that. A bonus is that the lamp turns on when you click the snooze button, so you can actually use it as a bedside lamp as well. I'm so glad I bought this!

Needs louder alarm.
This is a 30 day review.I am a sound sleeper and also hard of hearing, so a normal "loud" alarm won't cut it for me. My Sonic Boom clock is at least 2x louder than this one, but after 14 months the bed shaker quit working. I was never really happy with the bed shaker on the Sonic Boom because the on-off cycle was too fast. I thought Id try this clock.PROS: The bed shaker is alot better than the Sonic Boom at waking me up. The on-off cycle is about 3 seconds compared to shy of one second on the Sonic Boom. I rate the bed shaker 5-stars.CONS: 1) Others have commented on the snooze/reset button, and I agree that it is a poor design. 2) I can't get the alarm to be loud enough and the tone is too easy to change. I keep on having to adjust the tone to my liking. 3) The light on the alarm is a wimp compared to the Sonic Boom. I have not tried to plug in a lamp yet, but may try that later.Right now I am using both alarm clocks; the Sonic Boom for the super-loud alarm and bright LED light built into the clock and the Wake Assure for the bed shaker. Most of the time the bed shaker will wake me up enough to hear the Sonic Boom that comes on 2 minutes later.I only wish there was one alarm clock that would contain the PROS of both the Sonic Boom and the Wake Assure.UPDATE:. After more than 10 years, the buzzer quit working. The bed shaker and flashing lamp still works good. I think I'll use 2 alarm clocks for awhile as the new alarm doesn't have a flashing lamp like this does.NEW CLOCK: bought anoy clarity clock because this is the best clock I could find. The bed shaker is the best part of this clock. The alarm sound still kinda on the wimpy side. The thingy I like most is the plug in lamp function. Between the lamp and the bed shaker gets me out of bed. I still rate it 4-stars cause it's not perfect. Make the alarm a little louder and add a 24 hour clock and I may give you a 5.

Could Be Great
I'm disappointed. After my wife suffered sudden, complete, hearing loss in one side, we were scrambling to find something to get her somewhat back to a normal life. There seems to be a serious design flaw with this clock.Pros:-The numbers are huge and easy to read.-The variable pitch alarm ( wonky due to a cheap rotary control) could be a good thing if you could actually set it.-The bed shaker works well.Cons:-Crummy "guts" in the volume and pitch controls. I know a cheap potentiometer/rheostat when I turn the knob and it crackles and takes a 1/2 turn to have any effect.-A snooze button means "silence the alarm and make it go off again in X minutes" Well apparently the designers didn't know that. Instead ONE TOUCH OF THE SNOOZE BUTTON COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF THE ALARM. No, we didn't hit it twice in the dozen or so experiments we did with it. One touch, alarm disabled. A very bad designFail. And I really want to like this product.

Works really well.
This alarm clock works really for my father who is almost totally deaf without his hearing aids in. It is also very easy to set the time and alarm, which is a real bonus for a 95 year old who is not familiar with using one button to operate multiple functions like most new clocks.

Muy bueno
No tiene muchas cosas que mover, como radio y así.. pero como "Despertador", no hay mejor. Hayas dormido 10 o 2 horas, SEGURO te levantas

Flashing light??
Does not connect to the lamp as the old one did. These only flash on the snooze button.

The only alarm that works for hearing impaired
What can I say? This product works. Period. My son has severe hearing loss and we have tried countless products, wrist watches, vibrating pads, alarms etc. This one worked out of the box. My son loves it.The user interface is very intuitive. You can tell that an engineer designed the product, not some marketing idiots.Very easy to use and it WORKS.Extremely happy with this product.

Works great!
I love this alarm clock! The bed shaker wakes me up immediately. I cannot hear clock radio alarms anymore as I have profound hearing loss in my left ear and a cochlear implant on my right ear.
