Great, Protective Case with Extra Juice!
Ever since upgrading to iOS 7, my iPhone's battery life has been pretty lousy. I work long hours and travel quite a bit for work, so running out of juice before the end of my day is unacceptable. Enter the Mophie Juice Pack Air. Prior to purchasing, I was deciding between the Helium and the Air. I chose the Air because it had more favorable reviews in the tech industry over the Helium, and the Helium seems to suffer from a few design flaws that aren't present with the Air. The extra battery life in the Air helped make my decision easier too.Installation was a breeze. The case is composed of two pieces which snap together once the phone is placed inside the top half. You install the phone into the top half first and then slide the bottom half over the base of your phone until you here a soft click sound. Just make sure prior to putting the top half on, that your iPhone's locking switch is in the same position as the locking switch on the case. Some people have mentioned having difficulty removing the bottom of the case. I haven't encountered this problem at all. Whenever I need to take off the bottom piece, a firm grip and small tug pops it right off every time. This case is beautiful. It feels like it's made out of a good, rugged, plastic material. The back of the case is a semi-firm, matte plastic that is very grip-able, while the bezel around the edge has a harder, plastic feel to it and a satin finish. Sliding the phone in and out of my pockets presents no issues. The back of the case doesn't snag my pocket linings and slides out nice and easy. The case adds about an extra half an inch to the length, a few extra millimeters of depth, and an extra gram or two of weight to the phone. I actually like this, as I always felt the iPhone 5 felt too short, too thin, and too light in my hand after using it for a while. The bezel that wraps around the edge of the phone covers all of your iPhone 5's buttons and switches, which is nice compared to the Helium's cutouts. All of the case's buttons function perfectly, although the locking switch takes a little bit of effort to switch on and off, but I actually like this because the iPhone's lock has too much play to it and tended to switch by itself while moving around in my pocket once in a while. Now, I don't have to worry about that anymore. The bottom of the case has speakers on the front facing side. These speakers redirect the speakers on the bottom of the iPhone 5 to the front face of your phone. I love this feature! Everything just sounds better when the sound is projected toward your face instead of away from it.There are two minor issues with bottom of the case. One, because the case adds an extra half an inch in length to the phone, the headphone jack is now recessed half an inch in the bottom of the case. Fortunately, Mophie includes a headphone jack extender/adapter which has already come in handy for me in my car's auxiliary wire. Standard iPhone headphones will still fit into the bottom of the case, but if you have after-market headphones that have a thicker connector, you'll need to use the included adapter. The second issue is the case features a Micro USB connector on the bottom, replacing your iPhone 5's Lighting connector. Why they had to do this, I'm not sure, but it presents a problem if you like to sync your iPhone with your computer via Lightning connection. Mophie's solution is to just sync your phone over Wi-Fi, which is fine, but I've been synching my Apple devices the old fashioned way ever since the iPod. You'll just need to take the extra step of pulling off the bottom of the case if you want to sync your phone via Lightning connector. Not a big deal.Operating the case's backup battery is pretty straightforward and easy. Following Mophie's recommendations in the included guide, I turn the backup battery on when my iPhone's battery goes under 20%. Once the iPhone's battery is back up to 80%, I shut off the backup battery. I get about an extra 6-8 hours of battery life in my phone, depending on what I'm doing. When charging from a wall outlet, it charges the phone and backup battery at the same time. Charging the backup battery takes about an hour. Four LED lights on the back of the case indicate how much juice is left in the backup battery. Each light represents 25% of the battery. To the left of the LEDs is a small button that, when pressed, temporarily lights up the LEDs so you can check on the battery life. To the right of the LEDs is the backup battery's on/off switch. The backup battery gets a little bit warm when in use, but it never gets excessively hot. If it does, then something is wrong with the battery and needs to be replaced.Overall, I'm very happy with the Mophie Juice Pack Air. In fact, I love it. I've been using the case for at least a month now and haven't had any issues. As long as it stays that way, I'm a happy customer. Mophie's slogan is "Mophie Loves You," and it certainly shows in how well crafted this case is and how painless it is to use.Pros:- Great-fitting, well-designed case. Rugged and protective. Looks and feels great in the hand.- 6-8 hours of extra battery life (depending on what you're doing)- LED indicator, and On/Off switch make backup battery use a breeze- Easy to charge. Wall charging charges both phone and case simultaneously!Cons:- Recessed headphone jack can be problematic for after-market headphones. (Adapter is included though).- Micro USB connector on bottom of case. Defeats purpose of iPhone's new Lightning connector, and forces you to sync phone via Wi-Fi or remove bottom of case to access Lightning connector.

battery life times 2!! no longer tethered to charging cable every night!
The Mophie phone case, with built-in battery, is AWESOME! Just got a new iPhone and where my old phone would have to be charged after about 18 hours, my new phone - when paired with a fully charged mophie juice pack air case - lasts at least 48 hours (sometimes as much as 2 and a half days!!). How cool is that? The body of the case is well built; meaning it's sturdy, not flimsy. It covers the back and sides of my iPhone well, and maintains a firm grip on my phone. The phone's buttons are covered by the case, with the exception of the "home" button, but the case has buttons built over them that work very well - they're not misaligned or "cheap". The case's lightning power connector, that gets inserted into the phone, is firmly built into the bottom case and is easy to line up when assembling. It does not shift around, so I suspect this connection will remain solid for a long time. The only thing I don't like about this case is that it doesn't allow me to plug in my iPhone charger to the case. It uses a micro-USB connection. Furthermore, the charging cable that comes with the case is micro-USB to USB (with no wall adapter). Fortunately, I already had a wall adapter (and they're inexpensive). But it would've been nice if it came with one. If it at least came with a wall adapter, I would've given this case a 5-star review in spite of it requiring micro-USB charging instead of lightning.

Not the same quality as the iphone 4s juice pack. It's getting returned.
Wow this thing is awful! I had a Mophie juice pack air for my 4s and loved it. Here is why i hate this one:1) It adds too much bulk. Perhaps this is because the iphone 5 is longer than the 4s2) The pack is hard to open. (my previous juice pack slide open so gracefully)3) It's hard to place the iphone into and remove from the Juice pack. It doesn't slide in the way it did in previous versions. I struggled to get my phone out of the pack. I think its meant to put on and stay on for the life of the pack.4) You need an additional dongle to plug headphones in. I have enough things to carry around.Since the juice pack added to muck bulk and requires an additional dongle for the headphones, I considered keeping it but just putting in on and off as needed. Had the Juice Pack been easier to put on and take off, I would have considered keeping it, but its a pain.I received the juice pack today and will be returning it tomorrow.

not terrible but not as good as advertised
I had high hopes for this product-I've never owned any extra battery case at all and was impressed by the clean look and mostly positive reviews I read before buying. Unfortunately I don't think the case ever offered a true 100% charge, which I could get past. What I can't get past is it's been about three-four months of use and it now seems the pack has barley any life at all. I'd estimate it charges maybe 30-40% and if I remember correctly I think it was supposed to do at least 80, if not 100%. Great idea, clean well built product but unfortunately it hasn't performed as advertised.

Love these. Keep these in stock please.
I keep purchasing these when they break. I would like if they last longer, but I realize I am on my iPhone for quite a few hours every day, either browsing or watching videos. This takes a lot of charging and recharging. So I beat these up.Love these, and I hope they continue to be in stock here. The juice pack comes with a connector for your iPhone charging (because you cannot use the native one), and it comes with an earphone connector, since you cannot use the native one.Love Love Love - great deal.Enjoy
