Somerdale Double Devon Cream (5.6 oz)

I was a little concerned about ordering. But I was very surprised at how delicious it was.

When I opened the jar there was a brown mold on the inside of the cap...so did not eat it. ok, so tried some...gave my stomach fits.

Tastes good. A little more buttery than clotted cream. Does separate, so mix before using. Yummy.

I enjoyed this on my scone because it is thick and not sweet.

First of all there was a large, bright orange sticker on the package that said “ sold as a set, do not separate” but I only received one item ( as ordered). More importantly the item contained way too much liquid for. Normal separation and was a putrid yellowish green color. The cream itself is a yellow gray color. I do not want to open it if I don’t have to. Adding insult to injury, this item can’t be returned or refunded.

I have fond memories of scones and clotted cream from my visits to London. I bought this as a Father's Day treat for my husband. However, when I received the product, I could smell that the cream was spoiled before I opened the box. The jar was wrapped in plastic cling wrap and had spoiled whey beneath it. The stench was overpowering when I took the cling wrap off. The contents appeared to be okay but a single tiny taste said otherwise. I spent was way too much money for this.

Gave to a friend from England, he said it reminded him of home.

I’m sure this is a perfectly wonderful product however it was delivered in a regular envelope without cooling packs, via regular post to Phoenix Arizona. You can imagine what it looked like upon receipt. AN ABSOLUTE MESS. At $30 for a 4 oz jar I would have expected so much better. Reported to the vendor over 2 weeks ago… crickets. Won’t recommend.
