Samsara Herbs Kudzu Root Extract Powder (2oz/57g) 20:1 Concentrated Extract

Very fine powder, seems to have a relaxing and calming effect. I have been experimenting with it to reduce alcohol withdrawals, and it seems to help. I have yet to come up with an 'optimal dose' as I am a bit new to this extract. I have an encapsulation "machine" (a plastic unit called "the Capsule Machine") ... but I don't know how much is in each capsule, (weight-wise) so it's just a guessing game I suppose. However, I will keep at it, maybe try a slightly higher dose ... Perhaps I need a digital scale?

Very good value for the price. Powdered form of Kudzu takes a little more effort to ingest, but it dissolves quickly in hot tea, or coffee. Actually I don't think it tastes bad at all, but it is a distinct taste if you just eat it straight. The higher concentration makes it easy to adjust the dosage, but the packaging is difficult to get sealed after repeated openings. Will definitely buy again. Highly recommend as a price to value product.

I like that this is a non gmo product so there are no pesticides or chemicals as I had recently tried kudzu from another company and I broke out with pimples . I put the powder in capsules when I don't have the time to drink it in a glass of water which is bearable for me. It helps with menopausal symptoms and inflammation and made my life easier. Revisiting my review, I now put a teaspoon in in 4 oz of water and use a battery operated frother to blend it. Its easy to drink.

So, I'm not sure if this will keep up, but I'm partially using this for what I've heard about it helping controlling alcohol cravings. When I don't have alcohol in my place in the evening it is almost like I have a panic attack or something and I can't stop myself from going out to buy more. I also have trouble stopping once I start drinking. I took my first dose with dinner and its been a couple hours and I don't feel the way I usually do.

I have been taking this kudzu supplement for a little over 2 weeks to help with my beer cravings. Though it did indeed help lower my cravings for beer during the day, I recently had a checkup with my doctor and blood work done. My results came back and my liver enzymes had jumped significantly since my last checkup a year ago. My AST went from 16 to 49 and ALT from 32 to 59. My drinking habits really hadn't changed over the past year. After some thorough research, I found some studies on the kudzu root leading to hepatotoxicity in lab rats. The rats were given very small doses (5-100mg a day) for 30 days. One scoop of this particular brand is a whopping 2500mg! Now, I am obviously no doctor, and I can't say for sure that this supplement is causing my liver enzymes to spike, but I discontinued use of it today. I have another checkup in 30 days where we will do more lab work to assess what's going on. Please, consult your doctor if you are considering taking this supplement and monitor your liver enzymes!

I have been using Kudzu for almost 2 weeks and I definitively feel much better. I was hesitant to order to powder form after having read that it doesn't mix easily. I have had no problem mixing the powder with some concord grape juice; after letting it stand for a while it dissolves, mixes quite well and tastes good too.

Although a bit expensive, but the quality is premium. Subscribed some more.

I really like it. I heard it helps with alcohol cravings and so far it’s worked for me! I usually buy a bottle of wine after work and end up drinking the whole thing.. since I’ve been drinking this product in my tea every morning I don’t have that craving anymore! I can actually stop at one glass! It may not work that way for everyone but it definitely works for me.
