Was unsure about this purchase. But it is impressive. Works really well as a baster. It also holds its shape which surprised me.

Cleans up easily and spreads BBQ sauce evenly. OXO makes great stuff.

These are not just for cooks. I will never be a cook nor a chef. I am a writer/director/producer. I also like food and am a vegetarian. My spouse and I both prepare our own food. Obviously, it is normal to prepare one's own food and eat at home. This type of OXO basting brush is great for that. I found out I had to get two as often my spouse and my vegetarian breakfasts require both olive oil and canola oil. We even use them to lubricate our bread pans and paddles on our bread machines. Since all of our bread and rolls are homemade our bread machines get quite a workout and it is that much easier for them to make bread with a little olive oil coating the bread pan and paddle. The basting brush makes it quick and easy. I was using my Zildjian metal drum brushes as basting brushes for my Tofurky (veggie faux turkey, ) and other things but since they are metal I could not use them on non stick surfaces. So after many years I bought this type of basting brush. It works great. I still think my Zildjians look much more snazzy and still enjoy basting my Tofurky with them. If this OXO pastry brush looked fancier I would give it 5 stars. The bristles do have a fantastic mathematically engineered design for cooking oil flow that my metal Zildjian drum brushes obviously do not.

Works very well for basting small items! Cleans easily in dishwasher.

Interest engineering on this applicator brush. I really like the way it grabs oil to put it on vegetables or meat. Much easier to clean than a natural brush.

Great Basting Brush. I use it to brush marinade on vegetables for shish kebabs. I love that it cleans so easily, unlike brushes with bristles.

Ich habe speziell einen Backpinsel gesucht, der nicht ständig beim Bestreichen von Lebensmittel oder der Pfanne, „Haare“ bzw. Borsten verliert, so wie das oft bei den einfachen Backpinsel mit Naturborsten ist. Dieser Pinsel ist hitzebeständig, man kann direkt damit Butter in einer heissen Pfanne verstreichen, ohne das er Borsten verliert. Er liegt gut in der Hand und kann super in der Spülmaschine gereinigt werden ohne das er seine Form verliert. Er wurde auch sehr schnell geliefert. Ich bin sehr zufrieden und würde ihn jeder Zeit wieder kaufen.

I already had the smaller size of this pastry brush, so I already knew I would like this one. It is nice to have the larger version for bigger jobs, like spreading melted butter on filo or basting bbq ribs. Holds a lot and cleans easily in the dishwasher.
