We have had this for at least a year, and my 5 year old is constantly looking through it and reading about ocean creatures. It has constantly been his favorite, and he can tell me so many different facts about sharks and other creatures. It has nice big, colorful pictures and gives great descriptions and facts for each animal featured.

I got this for my shark obsessed son to read while in the hospital and it was perfect. Great pictures, and it's well written to hold a childs attention. This is great for a 7 year old that's good at reading, on up. I even enjoyed reading it.

Bought this book for my 5 year old son. He LOVES sharks & ocean creatures! This book is great for his age- it has the creatures common name, scientific name, a paragraph/nugget of info about the sea creature featured, and a data file table that rates predator power, creature size, where they live and what they eat - all on the page. This is great for children! I would recommend for anyone who wants to gift to a child that loves ocean animals.

I bought this book for my 5 years old son which is a fan of sharks. It has amazing photos and it is just right for him. Every time that he has a new toy shark, he looks in the book and says "hey mommy, I found it", and put a sticker on the page. The book includes other sea creatures, that is a plus. Also includes a short description of the shark or sea creature and some facts like predator power, size, distribution, and diet. It also has a reference section that shows the shark family tree (including those sharks that are already extinct), the shark life cycle, habitat, and a glossary.

My son loves ocean animals, sharks in particular and this encyclopedia was absolutely perfect for him. We've been reading this every single night before bed, and he's already memorized more than half of it and he's 4 years old!I appreciate that the scientific name is also provided, as sometimes some of the animals are referred by their scientific name rather than their given name. I actually enjoy this book as well since it's full of information and I love to learn to keep up with my son!

We bought this to find out more about particular sharks but unfortunately it contains very little information about each creature. We did find lots of creatures we’d never heard of before but again it didn’t give us much information. There are plenty of sharks in it but it’s not a “Shark Book”!Gorgeous photos and illustrations (for the prehistoric creatures) but lacking in much detail. A shame really as it’s a beautiful book.

Excellent first book for a little shark lover. The pictures are simply jaw-dropping. Very close up, very well lit, fantastic optics, good colours. Some of the information is a bit... sensationalist perhaps? but that's what most kids are after, and that's what'll get them started anyway. It has info on many other dangerous and/or fascinating creatures, some of them look simply lovely in the pictures (killer and sperm whales... O_O ).The size is not quite A4, but a bit smaller. I was somehow expecting a bigger book and was disappointed at first, but nevermind. The book is great and does tick all the boxes.

This is a great book. It covers extinct and current sharks. Daughter loves the predator power. It is really easy to read and understand. Great for an introduction to sharks for the under 10's.

I bought this for my cousin's 4 year old kid and he absolutely loves it! They have to read a page every night before bed and it's been to nursery with him twice for show and tell 😂
