I was interested in this chair from the price mostly. Given the price, I think the build quality is above expectation. I'm about 230lbs and this chair holds me nicely, no worries about its ability to handle that weight (some caster wheels have trouble, these have been good). Armrests are sturdy and the piston doesn't bounce nearly as much as other chairs I've had. My only real con is that the butt pad lasted about 4 days before it was totally useless. I purchased this chair in January of 2017. I have back issues and I needed a decent chair with arms so that I can decompress my back on occasion. I really wanted a decent chair, and was looking at expensive chairs, but the price was right on this ESS-6020.It has been very comfortable and I have not experienced the "peeling of the synthetic leather" that some reviewers speak of. I also have not experienced any reduction of comfort/cushioning. I am typically in this chair for a couple of hours in the evening and for several hours on weekend days, so it gets daily use.This has been a great chair for me and very good value.Fast forward to today... a couple of weeks ago (December of 2018) I wrote to the company. When I sat in the chair, it sunk to the lowest position and when I stood up it elevated itself, finally it just remained in the lowest position. I had "nothing to lose" by contacting the company. I didn't know if there was an "adjustment that I could do or if it was broken. Within a day they informed me the "lift" had failed and they were shipping me a new one - - - "What?! At no charge?! I received the new lift, on the following SUNDAY, and installed and my chair is working perfectly ever since. Really! The chair is decent, a great value AND excellent customer service to boot! What more could one ask for?!

I purchased this chair exactly one year ago today. For the cheap price, it was a decent chair for 11 solid months. First, I want to state that it looks exactly like the image and even a year later, it still looks brandnew. I sit in it everyday at my computer to complete grad school projects for several hours. So the use, in that sense has been heavy. I have not, however, used it in any strenuos. Sometimes, I adjust the seat whenever I have to use the video camera from my flatscreen monitor or meet the height of a tripod for minor filming. Even this, however, is not more than three or four times a month.The problem is this: Suddenly one day, the entire chair began to tilt forward --- with the edge of the sit facing down and the back of the chair high up in a permanent dive. Strangely, nothing appears to be broken, it's not wobbly... just slanted downward. So much so, if anyone sits in it... they just slide out after a few minutes unless you hang on. I hesitate to give the chair less than three stars because this could just me a problem with "this chair." Needless today, after forcing myself to sit in it for about 45 minutes, by back is in great distress. As a result, it's heading to trash bright and early tomorrow morning.I am very disappointed that I have to choose another chair tonight. You really get what you pay for.... and my back is paying pretty back right now, and I don't have back problems -- ever.

I wanted an office chair that had a lower back and more padding than my current one, so I ordered this one because it was cheap enough for my company to reimburse for it. Overall, it has proven to be a great chair. I was able to assemble it by myself in around 30 minutes using only an Allen wrench. While the arms and the bottom are plastic (they're just painted to look like metal), the chair still seems relatively sturdy and after a couple of months I haven't had any issues with anything breaking. In a perfect world, it would have a little bit thicker/firmer padding on the seat, but for the price it's pretty hard to beat.

Really awesome chair for the price. Assembly wasn't too bad, but I can tell the materials used to fashion the padding is not durable. Honestly I don't see how something this cheap COULD get 5 stars unless it was just too good to be true. Still, this chair walks the line. It's super comfy for productivity, but not fall asleep comfortable. When you sit in it, you are comfortably yet securely put into a productive posture that will likely keep you from experiencing long term discomfort. It is deceptively small compared to the pictures and should fit a small or normal person. If you're really overweight you might not enjoy this chair. Otherwise if you want something cheap and don't mind it getting raggedy, go for it. This will be a comfortable chair long after the padding is ripped to shreds, which it probably will soon.

I've been needing a new chair for a while and working remotely, I couldn't wait any longer. The delivery took more than a week, but that's to be expected with the quarantine/lock down. The chair was nicely packaged, with everything clearly labeled. It was super easy to put together. No tools required except the Allen wrench that was included. Super comfortable, but I wish the back was adjustable. The chair is a perfect fit for me (5'6", 135 lbs.), but too small for my spouse (6'3, 250+lbs.).

This chair was a little more $ than the other office chairs I looked at but I believe it is worth it. Putting it together was very easy (only need Allen wrench that is provided). This chair is comfortable. The armrests having padding too which adds to the comfort. The chair doesn't tilt back but that's okay with me. The only thing I would recommend is a little more lumbar support but that could just be for me and my body type. Otherwise, I am very happy with this purchase.
