is this timer a delay on make, or a delay on break?

it is a delay on make... Some thermostats. The minute you try to set the temperature... The compressor or the fear immediately tries to turn on... This is very bad, especially for a compressor, so you install a delay on make to give you time to adjust. The thermostat to the desired temperature,... Before actually sending the signal to turn on the compressor. I have a NEST thermostat, I love it but to me it has one issue that this device helped resolve, and that is turning the dial to a desired temperature... It would immediately invoke the contractor relay for the compressor, I need a delay so I can choose the desired temperature and then wait a like 15 seconds before sending the signal to the relay, which turns on the compressor. another very important device to install along with this is a delay on break, if the compressor is running... And your power goes off for a few milliseconds... You want a delay of 7 to 10 min. before the compressor is to restart, this will save a lot of stress on your compressor.

Excellent timer, very precise

I have two large compressors that at times start simultaneously, which makes the electric company concerned about exceeding the meter's capabilities and at times causes compressor motor overload issues. Since installing the time delay relay, and setting it to 4 seconds I no longer have these problems and no low oil pressure faults, because it's only a 4 second delay.

Great Little Device
