This is in striking contrast to teachers who recommend that students should always return to their basic meditation ...
Comments on The Ten Minute Moment:First, I want to thank the author for sharing this book, which is his journal of a week-long spiritual retreat in Scotland. This is a gift to those of us who meditate, because the author shares so much of his personal inner process. Here are a few themes that can be followed in the book:1. Flexibility in Meditation: Although Jurgen started out doing TM (Transcendental Meditation) many years ago, he does not meditate in a rigid manner; and in this book, he models a different technique of meditation each time he sits. In his whole week-long retreat, I don’t think that he repeats a single technique. This is a far cry from meditators who do the same technique over and over. Also, in contrast to many meditation teachers, Jurgen acknowledges spiritual phenomena that he experiences; and he decides whether or not to explore the phenomena or whether he wants to continue deeper into meditation. This is in striking contrast to teachers who recommend that students should always return to their basic meditation technique and ignore any spiritual experiences that occur.2. Becoming the Seed: One of the most useful ideas that Jurgen modeled for me was his BECOMING the object of meditation. For example, he doesn’t want to just bask in the Inner Light, he BECOMES the Inner Light. He doesn’t just use “love” as a seed for meditation, he BECOMES the essence of love. This was a key concept for me. For years, I have been able to bathe in the Inner Light in an “I-Thou” relationship. But because of Jurgen, I am learning to BECOME the Inner Light. This has been a MAJOR breakthrough for me.3. Practicing the Presence: Another theme that runs through the book is Jurgen’s awareness of a Presence near him that he had been aware of for years. This is quite common among people who are spiritually oriented, but Jurgen pays attention to this and has a wonderful evolution of this Presence during his retreat. (That is an understatement.)4. God Is In Everything: The author spends about half the book describing his interactions with nature. Initially, I thought that he was padding the book with fluff. It took more spiritual growth on my part to realize that he was seeing and hearing God in nature, in the bird calls, in the Sacred Silence behind the life force of nature. (I have learned to call this the Tao of Duh: when there is something spiritual right in front of me, and I suddenly have the consciousness to see it and understand it. So these nature descriptions are a subtle sharing of his spiritual consciousness and are worth thinking about.)In summary: This short book could be easily overlooked among the multitude of metaphysical books on the market. Unlike so many of those books, this one is written from personal experience and deserves to be studied by the serious spiritual student. The author has also written two other books about his experiences with out-of-body travel, and they are very interesting in terms of life-after-death. But this little book has concepts that are very practical for the student of meditation.

Meaningful Book
I admit that I’m actually aware at least somewhat how lucky I am to enjoy multiple blessings in my life including a loving husband, some family members, and friends who are supportive of my spiritual beliefs. Additionally, I look at various spiritual books to help me integrate my spirituality with the realities of aligning my career and other type of material world/earth based necessities/goals while striving to ideally live until I am at least 85 years andor older simultaneously. Although I often understand that I must always understand that how long I live is not 100 percent controlled by me and rather more related to destiny. However, one of the reasons why some of the writings by Jurgen Ziewe interest me is because he has successfully and generously shared how he balances his career, family, and spiritual life pursuits simultaneously. I admit that some of the creative writings that I have done online for fun have been influenced by some of his mystical writings. Additionally a person can still be a novice to Jurgen Ziewe’s work and obtain the Ten Minute Moment book as their first purchase by this author. However,if possible, before looking into this book that is Ten Minute Man by Jurgen Ziewe it is ideal to try to obtain his Vistas of Infinity andor the Multi-dimensional book before looking at this one in order to get an idea of his spiritual belief background influencing this book. I just wish that his Vistas of Infinity and Multi-dimensional man books were available in kindlebook form because both are one of a kind afterlife/mystical type of books. However, some of the writings included in this book the Ten Minute Moment by Jurgen Ziewe include; a mystical experience of him meeting someone who was symbolic of someone he might have met if he choose a particular area to reside, a mysterious penthouse sleeptime dream that had futuristic elements, glimpses where there is potential to access sleeptime dreams and transform them into lucid dreams, and more.

Beautifully Written, Moving
This book is almost a dreamlike meditation in and of itself. I found myself reading sentences, then drifting off into daydreams or thoughts inspired of the beautiful prose and lovely descriptions. It's more of a tableau of the beauty of life and nature. I very much enjoyed it and may read it again, which says a lot.I would have liked to hear more of the author's specifics about meditating - although I realize this was not his purpose, but he threw out several tantalizing clues about what he likes to do in meditation. One example: early on he states that "after he mastered the mind" he found many meditation techniques to be effective. Such a powerful tidbit, left only as a teaser. What, exactly, did the author do to master the mind and its myriad thoughts? Some more background, please...and what, oh what, did his lovely wife think of his excursions...many questions left open to imagination. Also, again I realize it wasn't the author's purpose, but given he had such a powerful and transformative experience, an epilogue written a few months/years after would be so awesome, to describe to the reader how the author's life changed as a result of his momentous experience. In any case, this is not so much a criticism as a request that in a second edition, a mite bit more detail be brought to bear on the subject, being the whole book is about meditation and life and consciousness. It did make me interested in the subject, but given his frightful experience, also caused me to shy away from it as well - after all if waiting for us is a very dramatic and scary step to give up our total beings, then I as a little "I" am terrified to proceed. All in all, it's still quite a lovely read, more an artistic romp through the vagaries of consciousness, life, the universe, and everything. Definitely worth reading.

Great book!
A very insightful account of the author's week-long meditation retreat - much insight and wisdom can be acquired from reading it. Like his other two books, the writing is excellent and the subject matter fascinating - would definitely recommend :)

Advanced but essetial reading
I am not an accomplished mediator. If I manage 15 minutes I am doing well. The author does something like 2 hours in the early morning and again at night, more when he can. He has been doing this for the best part of his adult life, and he is, I believe, now in or about to enter retirement from his material labours. This puts him in a class I would call dedicated as well as accomplished. His dedication to the practice has enabled him to experience the pleasures of lucid dreaming and the educational benefits of out of body excursions into the after life’s astral dimensions. In this manual and descriptions of his week in an isolated retreat, he experiences several interesting OOB incidents that are instructive. The event that I see as the most enlightening and at the same time disquieting is in the chapter headed “The Terrifying Face of God” The author faces God, or his Supersoul as some writers describe this ultimate entity, is …. Well you must read it for yourself! Its a small manual of 137 pages but well worth adding to your library of spiritually educational manuscripts.Marj

Being Part of a wonderful moment
This book leaves me deeply touched by all kinds of positive emotions and the desire to understand more of the experience than these words in the book could describe and the picture they create in my mind. This book is written by a man who opens his inner heart to give everybody the chance to share his moment of elightment.Thank you Juergen!
