Great addition to the series! :D
4.5-5 starsThis was a great story. Considering Liam's actions in the previous book, Reaper's Legacy, I didn't know if I'd like him as the hero of a book but he was a surprisingly good hero. I really liked Em as well and her and Liam made a great couple.Em is the daughter of Picnic, the president of the local chapter of the Reaper's MC. Her mom died when she was a teen and she and her sister had to suffer through a certain amount of protectiveness from both their dad and the other MC members who thought of the girls as family. Unfortunately this messed up most of Em's dating possibilities from the first day of high school (where Picnic and his buddies gave her a "ride" to school) until present day. Em's sister has moved away to live her own life but Em has stayed with her dad but is frustrated by his inability to see her as more than a little girl.Liam was in foster care as a child and the only one he cared about was his foster sister, Kelsey. Unfortunately, they were placed in a home that wasn't a good place for them to be. Things come to a violent end one day and it brings about Liam's connection with the Devil Jacks MC. The MC became a family for Liam and Kelsey and he did anything the MC needed him to do. Because of his background, Laim doesn't really understand love and doesn't know if he can even feel it (the closest is probably what he feels for his sister) so Laim doesn't typically do relationships. For this story, we go back in time a bit to overlap some of what happened in the previous book so we can see some of how Liam and Em met. Liam watches Em and then manages to engage her in some facebook messaging and then eventually texting back and forth. Liam and EM didn't meet each other and were just friends until the night of Painter getting his patch as a full member of the Reaper's MC. There had been an attraction between Painter and Em but he'd never make a move. Em figured it was because he was still a prospect and so she gave him until he got patched in. Painter basically blows her off and acts like a real jerk and Em decides she's had enough. I don't blame her at all because to be honest, Painter was a jerk and the other guys in the MC excusing his butt with stupid excuses didn't help matters. Once Em decides she's done with Painter and informs Liam of this via one of their many text convos, Liam asks her to consider him as a possible boyfriend. Em has loved talking to Liam and so she decides to give him a chance. They chat long distance a while longer before they finally make plans to meet. Things end up going to crap part way through Liam and Em's first meeting though because of the actions of a rogue Reaper's MC member that kidnaps a Devil Jack's member. Liam is forced to change his plans and he and one of his buddies use Em and Sophie as leverage to get their member back alive. Things don't go quite as planned and Em and Liam have some interesting confrontations and interactions that cause mixed feelings on both sides. By the end, Liam is convinced he's lost any chance he might have had with Em and Em is angry with Liam and tries to hate him but can't.Once things get settled and the 2 MCs have a tentative peace, Liam goes to see Em to tell her what happened (knowing that her dad wouldn't tell her anything). Em gets a bit of very painful revenge on Liam for his kidnapping her and, once he's recovered, Liam explains things and they talk a bit. Liam decides to leave her alone though, figuring she wouldn't want any more to do with him. Em doesn't contact Liam but her sister's interference and a night of drinking brings Liam and Em back in touch. Once Em reached out to Liam and he saw that she still cares for him, there was no way Liam was letting her slip out of his life again. Unfortunately, a friend who thinks he's doing Liam a favor, tells Em certain information that makes her think it's best for Liam if she isn't in his life. Liam has a hard time convincing her otherwise and just when he's finally got Em back, things go to crap for both clubs and there's much distrust between them MCs so they can't decide if it's the other MC doing this or a 3rd party trying to provoke them to fight (which becomes more and more likely). This doesn't end up being a very easy time for Em and Liam as not many people are in favor of their relationship. Liam has to make some serious decisions about him and Em vs. his place in his MC and I was very happy with how things worked out in that regard. Things don't go perfect as Liam does make some mistakes and there are other issues thrown in, but I liked the feel of things between Liam and Em. Once they got past their initial difficulties caused by their opposing MC loyalties, Liam and Em were great together. Liam became the man that Em needed, he was strong and sweet and chose her above all else in the end. Em's a sweetheart but she also had a strong core that I wasn't expecting but liked a lot. Together they managed to get through a lot in order to come out in the end, ready to start their HEA.I really enjoyed this addition to the series. I loved Liam and EM together. Some people have compared the to Romeo and Juliet and I can certainly see the similarities but thankfully this story had a much better ending. I had a few complaints (the biggest of which I think if Picnic's actions towards Liam at the end) but overall the story was great and I loved it. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I'd recommend this story. 2 thumbs up. :D* note - I listened to the audio version of this book. There were actually 2 narrators, a female for Em's chapters and a male for Liam's chapters. They both did a very good job and melded well together so the transitions between chapters (and changing narrators) wasn't jarring.

Devil's Game
I am completely in love with Liam! This is the third book in the "Reapers Motorcycle Club" series and the story of Hunter and Emmy Lou.This book had me riveted, I honestly couldn't put it down until I finished it! The Devil's Jacks want peace with the Reapers but the Cartel is trying to play them against each other so a plan is made to cement their truce. Too bad things go south and out of a bad situation something wonderful is born.Hunter has been stalking Emmy the daughter of Picnic, the president of the Reapers MC for months now, talking to her online, through text and over the phone just trying to get her to fall for him. If he can get her to fall for him and become his old lady the truce with the Reapers will be strong. When he asks to meet in person he didn't expect his feelings for her to grow even more and when a rouge Reaper shoots Devil's Jacks member and kidnaps another all hell breaks loose and he's forced to keep Emmy and her friend as collateral until the Reapers find his brother. When he gives her up he makes sure to hurt her so that she knows there can never be anything between them. How do you know you love someone when the word has never had any meaning to you? Hunter grew up in foster care and knows loyalty very well, however, he doesn't know the meaning or feeling of love. No matter how hard he tries to avoid it, his feelings for Emmy just grow. He wants her so bad it's killing him so when she's the one to make the first move all bets are off and she's fair game. This time he won't let her go without a fight, even if it means war with the Reapers. She is his property!Emmy Lou is tired of living in the shadow of the club. She loves them all, they're family and they make her feel safe but for once she wants to be known as other than the president's daughter. She was 22 and still a Damon virgin because no one would even dare talk to her. When she met Liam online it was fun and things grew rather quickly between them. He made her feel wanted and always listened to her. So when he asks to meet in person she kept it a secret and went with a couple of friends as backup. When she met Liam in person it wasn't the way she expected and he totally blew her mind. He was her sweet Liam but he was bigger than she thought he'd be and his presence alone screamed danger, yet she felt safe with him for some reason. At least he's someone who might actually stand up to her father. Boy was she right! The night goes down the drain rather quickly when he kidnaps her along with her friend. When she realizes that not only she was played but they're in the custody of the Devil's Jacks she's more than hurt, she's pissed. Liam "Hunter" is mean, cold, and ruthless but keeps being sweet to her in between which confuses and angers her because her body responds to him like no other before him. She feels like a traitor but she can't help the way she feels about him. But their relationship was one that was doomed before it even began, for their clubs had been enemies since before she was born. But fate has other plans and when she finds herself fighting her feelings for Hunter and losing the battle miserably she can only hope the truce between the club's will hold true. When club members are getting shot at in their own homes on both clubs their instincts is to blame each other. Will they all listen and realize that the Cartel will win if they fight each other?Nothing is more important than keeping Emmy safe, both for Hunter and for Picnic so they'll have to come to terms with the situation at hand and deal with it. So Emmy takes Hunter home for the holidays because her dad promised he'd be safe but with all the bad blood between them and the Cartel shooting everyone all hell breaks loose before they even arrive. Will they be able to hold the peace truce after all is said and done? Will Emmy have to choose a side? Choose between the two men she loves most in this world? Between both her families? This story had it all! It was action filled, sexy and heavy on the testosterone. I love the Reapears and even a couple of Devil's Jacks. Awesome story, I can't wait for the next book, Reaper's Stand the story of Picnic!

best of the series
My favourite of the series, but that’s not a hard spot to earn considering I abhorred most others.I loved Liam and I loved Em. They make the perfect couple and are truly well suited. The storyline was kinda great tbh and what I loved most was how Em was portrayed. She was innocent by some standards but not naive nor helpless and she held onto her will and beliefs when it comes to her relationship and how she wanted to be treated.Liam was a great guy and the perfect example of how you can create a badass alpha male without making him a sexist, misogynistic a-hole who wants to own and control a woman in order to feel like a man. I love it when authors make it work.A lot of the heroes we get that are badass wannabes lack very much in the "treat a woman right" department and also in their respect for them.I recommend this to fellow readers who are looking for all the things I mentioned above.

Fabulous MC Series
Who needs sleep when you have Liam/Hunter to keep you entertained!!!Don't ask me if I prefer MC books over fighter books at the moment because I simply couldn't say but what I can say is that the Reapers MC series is totally amazing and Devil's Game is perfect. This is Em's story and part of which was covered in the previous book. As Picnic's daughter, Em more than her sister Kit, struggles to live under the Reapers MC's Presidents constant watch and with him not only frightening off but even shooting her potential boyfriends Em realises that only radical action will help her to escape his ever watchful gaze. After being kidnapped and escaping from Hunter and Skid and saving the truce, for now, between the Reapers and the Devil's Jacks, Em and Sophie return home but with Em still unsure of her feelings towards Hunter. After Painter spurned her advances once again though Em has had enough and decides to move to Portland to live with Cookie who is still recovering after losing Bagger. This move means she is also once again living close to her sister, Kit, but now under the watch of Deke, who doesn’t hide his distaste for Em and her sister and their precious life.Moving to Portland sets Em free but in doing so also brings her closer to Hunter once again. Hunter has two missions in life: one to save the truce between the two MCs and the other is to make Em his old lady but will he manage both?I loved this story so much, it was fast paced and highly entertaining but also violent at times. There are strangely comical parts to this story which make it an all-round outstanding story. I've got to say though, I really wanted Painter to be a better guy and I hope her gets to tell his story so that we can see a nice side of him!Reviewed on behalf of Jezabell Girl & Friends...

This series is getting better and better, buy this book I can't recommend it enough!!
Joanna Wylde's books just keep getting better and better in her MC series. I was hoping it would live up to the previous two books but she actually exceeds expectations!!This one follows the Repear's and the Devil' Jacks and overlaps the time frame of Reaper's Legacy slightly with the focus on Emma Heyes, Picnic's daughter President of the Reapers MC and her relationship with Liam aka Hunter and sworn enemy of the Repears MC by being a Devil's Jack and adopted son of their President and how their road to a HEA is far from straight forward. This book is slightly different to previous ones with the lead characters being younger, Emma and Liam are both in their twenties and so talk, date and view things differently to the previous two couples in the series. The lead Emma has always been feisty and sassy and she shines so bright in this tale and finally gets to shine and show how far she'll go for those she loves. Gone is the meek Emma who is Picnic's daughter and here as a woman you don't mess with or she'll "kick you in the balls!!"Liam is a hot, alpha, biker who you all just want to keep. Their road to happiness is far from easy. So many things stand in the way for this couples HEA. Club beliefs, family loyalties, secrets and lies but can "true love" overcome those odds???Liam, this man has his past full of demons and blindly follows his club orders as their the only people he loves and trusts, but will he follow orders once they lead to Emma? Will he follow them and live a lie? Can he keep the woman and his club cut? Will Emma risk all she knows to stand by the man she loves? This book is by far the best of the series to me. So if you like bikers hot and alpha and your heroines sassy and smart. A case of Romeo and Juliet via biker clubs and some secrets and lies this books is for you!!!

Riding with Romeo & Juliet
Hunter captivated me instantly, with his bad boy charm, sexy looks, swagger and his plan in extracting revenge for the Devil’s Jack by scoping out Emmy. The enforcer was rough and sweet as he lured Em into his web of lies and dealt with the consequences of his actions from the Reaper’s princess! Liam aka Hunter was the perfect match for Em, despite coming from rival and much hated mc clubs, the love they shared was full of passion, devotion, and heroism. I absolutely loved this pairing because after the heartache Em went through, she found a guy that loved her and was man enough to stand up to her father Picnic. Em’s character for me really shined in Devil’s Game, the biker chick in her came alive, she was sassy, confident, and sexy knowing how to handle herself in dangerous situations putting the men to shame, dayum she was one hot old lady reminding me of Marie! I loved Liam because he claimed Em the instant he saw her, and I could feel the chemistry and love build up between the pair, his loyalty had me smitten and anxious to read their intimate moments. The guy was bad but so good lol because his feelings for Em never swayed, despite situations and the distance. Devil’s Game was raw and gritty but not to the intensity of the previous two books, this one teases us as love and revenge take centre stage around Liam and Em, seeing game plans change and loyalty lines come into question, threatening the future of the clubs and its new lovers, with peace falling out of reach as rival clubs face blame when body counts hit the scenes. A different read and I adored it just as much as the previous books, all dues to Romeo and Juliet as they revved up the collision course between the Devil’s Jack and the Reaper’s!

Still good but lacking the grittiness of previous books
I liked it, it is a good solid book, and I'd be lying to give it less than 5 stars. However, all through the book, I thought it was a very different read to Reaper's Property and to a certain extent Reaper's Legacy. I guess that it is because she moved from Ellora's Cave to a mainstream publisher after Reaper's Property. This is not an Erotic Romance - as Wylde states at the end of the book, it follows a new adult structure. I personally hate new adult, so it was kind of disheartening for me to read that. What I loved about Reapers Property was that it was dirty and gritty and just bit f***ed up. This book was less Sons of Anarchy and more Motorcycle Man (which I love). It was cute and sweet, but it lacked any danger. Kirsten Ashley and Joanna Wylde created new genre of romance based on MC culture. I hope that Wylde takes us back to that hard hitting world she originally created - but I worry that commercial success may be more important than exploring the darker side of Reaper's MC and MC culture. So, still 5 stars, but I am sad that the books have got increasingly softer (and less erotic) as the series has progressed. Reaper's Property was so original, Reaper's Legacy was more accessible to mainstream readers, this book was a fun read but lacked that spark that made Reaper's Property genius. On a final note, I am dying to know if anyone from the Reapers knows the guys in Stage Dive, as they are all from Coeur D'Alene. It would be so cool if Horse or Ruger had gone to school with Jimmy, or if David and Ev invited Hunter and Em to a party at their apartment in Portland. Maybe we could even see Mal and Anne at a gathering at the Armoury.I live in hope.
