Trout Really Don't See As We See!
I have used UV materials of some sort for about 35 years and started carrying a few UV patterns when I found that on some days they were far better. Of course, some days they weren't nearly as good but I still ordered the new UV2 materials within the hour that I found they were available. The why and how of all this was a mystery that I just endured although I could find references that noted that trout eyes seemed to have a broader range of light wave detection than human eyes. OK, how does the construction of a trout eye apply to the hatch in progress, common trout (and other game fish) prey, and the artificials we use? Well, this book is the best layman's explanation I have yet found, and by far! Perhaps in 20 years we will look back on this volume as a simplistic and flawed explanation. However, as of today's state of the art, get the book immediately. If you learn than the clothing you wear on the stream has a UV signature and sometimes your cherished old khaki vest might show up like a neon sign on a dark night to the trout finning in the current, you will recoup your purchase price. I don't have storage space for hundreds of books and when I add one, one has to go. I am keeping this one, and it's that good!

Great if you think about your fishing
This book is great if you think about you fishing on a deeper level than just fly + water = fish. There are some issues in the book which I wish were covered in more detail but the ultimate reason of why a fish takes our bait will never be fully understood.

Ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst

Catchy title but not much beef inside
I had high expectations when I bought this book as the title was linked to the hot UV questions many experienced anglers have, but when I read the book disappointment set in quickly as there was not much helpful information in the book.
