Much of business is fraught with success and failure and that is one thing this Author emphasizes throughout the book. Also included in this book are tools and resources for you to put to use when you are ready to begin the journey of entrepreneurship and trust me, they don't leave anything out. After reading this book, you can expect to walk away with a wealth of insight to starting your business, but this is just the beginning. As the author states, this is just a starting guide so be sure to take advantage of the recommendations and put into action the lessons you learn.

As someone who is in the process of starting a small business, this book has proven a really necessary resource. It is packed with extremely useful information, great motivational stories, and all kinds of helpful tips. I love watching Shark Tank on TV, and this is such a great extension of the show. It has really helped me take the inspiration I get from seeing success stories on the show and start translating that into my own company.I highly recommend this book to everyone!

Any entrepreneur knows the pain of trying to find smart, relevant information to help them on their journey. The number of fruitless google searches and phone calls that lead nowhere can be almost enough to derail small business dreams.This is the best collection of both concrete information and inspirational stories that covers every step of the journey. From financing, to management, to marketing, everything is in there. I've never been a huge watcher of the show Shark Tank so was a bit skeptical as I worry about the the theatrical adaptations of entrepreneurship, but was pleasantly surprised at the granular value this book provides. My only wish, and it's a small one, is that there is some online resource to complement the book. So many of the questions that the book answers naturally lead to a wish to explore more, and it seems like the perfect opportunity to emulate an Amex Open Forum type platform.

Shark Tank Jump Start is an enjoyable, extremely informational read that covers so much ground and gives so much advice and so many resources that it's very difficult to put down -- except to jump online to put all that new information to good use. My husband, who is not much of a reader, has read it twice, and I've had to wrestle it from him several times to get my time in with the sharks. We've gained an enormous amount of knowledge and we're learning how to use it. We both heartily recommend this book.

Shark Tank is a very intriguing show - one of my favorites!It shows the 'American Can Do Spirit' is still alive but not really in great shape - HOWEVER anyone can become rich *IF* they are willing to work hard and take chances. That is what makes America different from much of the world. No one really cares what your skin color is or what your religion is as long as your product or service is needed and priced reasonably. I know that there are still people who won't buy or use a service because of some stupid reason but the vast majority of Americans will.HOWEVER this book is just short of a ripoff. It has very little to do with the show and spourts - at times anyway - silly and bolierplate crap. There is just enough good information in it to keep it from being tossed in my fireplace!!I would rate this a very mediocre 5.5 to 6.0 out of 10 stars. I can only recommend this if you get it at your local library or borrow it from a friend.On the other hand the show is great and VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

My favorite part of business school was the Case Study. So the added articles in this book with updates on past Shark Tank winners was great. When I get nonfiction books to help me improve whatever issue I'm tackling, it usually takes me a while to even pick it up to start. I think watching Shark Tank and thus "knowing" the source of information helped me dig right in. A great resource for my library!

In the daily rat race of trying to survive running your own business it easy to feel like you are running in quick sand. We decided to start over from scratch and this book is an excellent compass to show you the direction you need to be going. We all are reading the book and are learning individually of where each of us need to be and collectively where we need to be. If you are starting a company or restarting a company this is a must read.

A solid business book for anyone thinking about starting their own business, or taking their hobby mainstream. The book covers almost every aspect of the process.. even helping you decide if you really do want to start a business in the first place. I've found the book very helpful in helping me develop more of a structure and foundation for my company, and great insights and actionable pieces of advice from both the Author and the Sharks to promote and grow the business too. At this price I challenge you not to make the cost of the book back on your very first day. I've personally seen over 50% growth in my company over the past few months - and some of that is definitely attributable to the ideas contained in this book. Highly recommended.
