Great camera
Easy to install; easy to use; starts up when I turn my car on. I feel safer having it. Company is amazing at helping out with questions or if anything goes wrong. Mine suddenly stopped working outside of the warranty window and I contacted them just to see if it was something I could reset. After some trouble shooting, they sent me a refurbished one (no warranty) which I greatly appreciated but that wasn't expected.

Fantastic Dash Cam AND Customer Service!!
*****UPDATE***** I bought this dashcam in Feb 2022 and as mentioned in my initial and amended review, I received outstanding customer support. I want to reporrt that almost two years later, this dashcam is working FLAWLESSLY. I have never had an issue and it has served me very well. I do not need a new dashcam, but if I did, the REDTIGER F7N 4K dashcam would be my choice. It was money well spent. And for full disclosure, REDTIGER does not know I am writing an update; I only thought of it because my friend down the street asked if I had a dashcam and, if so, what brand/model? Easy answer and recommendation. I hope he is as happy as I have been! I've wanted a dashcam for my 2015 Chrysler Town & Country for the longest time. I did a ton of research before buying and delayed purchasing for quite some time. While I'm sure some of the competitor models are good, I finally decided on the REDTIGER 4K front/rear dashcam. I liked this one for the features and the great feedback I saw. REDTIGER dashcam shows very clear images, has Bluetooth and GPS capability, and a parking mode if hardwired (I didn't do that part yet, but I'm about to). Installation is on the right side of the rear view mirror and that actually is good since you don't want to be gawking at the camera and not at the road. I just connected it to my iPhone today using the UCAM app and it worked flawlessly. Great field of view, clarity, and smoothness. If I wanted to take a photo or save the video, it was just a press of a button on the phone. I was very impressed. Installation was ridiculously simple and that part startled me because I am not usually adept at this type of thing. Except for the 2-3 inches of wires by camera, the wiring is totally invisible. I do recommend going on YouTube and watching how to install the rear camera on a hatchback to get the wiring in the correct location. Customer service was exceptional!! I had purchased the dashcam for $149.99 along with a hardwire kit to use the cam in parking mode that was paired with the cam for another $18.99. The dash cam comes with a 32GB mini-card, but I upgraded to a 256GB mini-card. Well, the paired hardwiring kit had the wrong plug so it had to go back. While looking on Amazon, I saw a new deal for the exact same REDTIGER 4K dashcam for $118.99. I asked Amazon for a credit, but they said I had to return the unit and reorder. So I reordered the dashcam, but I decided to wait on the wiring. The new unit came in the next day, but it did not have the 32GB mini card. I received an email from Ms. Shelly, REDTIGER representative, who was concerned that I had a poor experience. I explained that wasn't true; I simply couldn't get a credit from Amazon. I told her the hardwiring kit wasn't correct and the mini-card was missing on the new unit. Ms. Shelly from REDTIGER immediately apologized profusely and said the company would make it right. She was professional, patient, and knowledgeable - very customer service-friendly. I asked about an extention cable to the rear of the van and the cost because I wasn't sure the supplied rear camera cable would be long enough (I hadn't installed it yet). But REDTIGER company promptly sent me one free of charge! As it turns out, the original cable was just long enough, but if I decide to reconfigure the cable location, this extension will come in handy. Oh, and they also gave me a new hardwiring kit free, AND gave me a credit for the missing 32GB mini-card, even though I said it was ok because I had purchased the 256GB card. I offered to pay for the wires up front, but they wouldn't hear of it. The point is that REDTIGER, through Ms. Shelly, provided OUTSTANDING and PROMPT customer service. They didn't have to reach out, but they did. They didn't have to be concerned, but they were. They didn't have to provide the accessories for free, but they wouldn't take no for an answer. They went out of their way to make it right, and they weren't even the ones at fault!! And Shelly is simply the BEST!! She demonstrated the company really cares. I cannot speak to the folks who didn't enjoy this dashcam, and here's hoping it works for a long time (it's not even close to hot outside yet). But I am absolutely thrilled with both the cam and the company. I highly recommend this brand and trust me, it usually takes a lot for this old Air Force retiree to recommend anything - this was my experience. Sure glad I bought this REDTIGER dash cam. ADDENDUM: After about 6 weeks, I did experience an issue with the camera not synching with my new phone. I contacted REDTIGER and Ms. Shelly was genuinely concerned and immediately sent me a new unit. This new dash cam works perfectly and I am grateful for the absolutely OUTSTANDING customer service AFTER the sale. This is the customer service one would expect from all sellers, but we all know that doesn't always happen. I mean, how many times have you read where customers got stiffed because it was after the return window? I can testify that mine was after the return window, too - But REDTIGER stands by their product and made it right without any hassles. They just took care of the problem. My new unit arrived exactly 24 hours after the conversation with Shelly. I stand by my earlier comments that I am so glad I bought the REDTIGER dash cam. This one is working just fine.

good camera and excellent CS
Wanted to wait until i owned this for a few months before i reviewed this. I am not a professional reviewer so will not go on and on. that being said. the Good: not bad to set up and plenty of wire to get the job done. checked the recordings and very nice, high quality so just what i was hoping for. I ran into a problem and the CS was very good and response was quick. the Bad: 1- they outsourced the connection to the cell phone (instead of their own software) that I was never, never able to get to work no matter what i did incl CS help on line Youtube and this included using several cell phones. would just not work. not happy, but not a deal breaker as to me this was just extra. still would have been nice. 2- the rear camera only comes up on the screen and is recording about 50% of the time. CS told me to just unplug and plug back in the rear camera connector. Does not work. i had to move the rear camera and when touched it then it worked again immediately so there is probably a loose connector in the rear camera and it is hard wired so no adjustment. i start the car drive down the road and about 1/2 the time it is working. Working, not working, working, not working. off and on all the time. can't do anything about it. was going to buy this as a gift for a friend of mine as i really liked it when i 1st got it. not now. Not 1 problem, but 2 problems so would not buy again. CS tried to help, but after their help still can't get the cell phone to connect and rear camera still working only 1/2 the time no rhyme or reason. Will keep for a little while then will replace with diff mfg. can't take a chance. sorry to go on, but very frustrated as I bought this to replace another brand (Aukey 4K dash cam with 6 lane wide angle lens with SanDisk High Endurance Video 64K card) and was in an accident and Police viewed the memory card and was black and said "file corrupt". recorded all the videos before the accident perfect and clear. PISSED! Really PISSED! tossed it the wires and memory card all out and bought this. i NEED This to WORK and do its job. Like a fire extinguisher. Period. UPDATE: i have been contacted by their customer support and there was a problem with the connection to the rear camera. they sent out a replacement and refund. camera works and just could not get the wireless part to work, but have changed it from a 2 star to a 4 star as it works and very good customer service. contacted me and follow up with emails until it was straightened out. Would recommend this if the connection is no longer a problem. Thank you Red Tiger!

Requires formatting SD card every 15 days or would stop recording - See Update
--- UPDATE March 20, 2024 Excellent customer service. This seller made sure I received all the possible help to resolve my issue and went above and beyond. Kudos to REDTIGER. Camera is working as expected and no issues have been found after the last update. I'm very happy with this dash camera and its features. --- UPDATE January 23, 2024 Good customer support but still facing the same problem. You have to format the card once it gets full. I was contacted by their customer support and was asked to do a firmware upgrade using the file "F7N_v1.20231108.0_318ENKEY.V140" and following the instruction listed on their website. I did the firmware upgrade on December 12 2023 and it was working fine until January 16 2024 when I got the same problem again. While I was driving through town I heard a loud beeping sound and saw a red rectangle on the camera little screen indicating a "Card error. please try to reboot". Of course, once again I'm driving and this camera was beeping constantly so I had to pull over, stop the car and deal with the error message. I rebooted the camera with no change. Same beeping sound and Card error message popped up again. I power-cycle the camera two more times with same result "card error". I had to go thru the menu and format the card and that seems fixed the issue. Doy you see what I mean? it is unacceptable to have a camera that stops recording, starts beeping continuously and the only way to make it work is to manually format the SD card. I have owned several DVR dash cameras through the years, from cheap to expensive (HP, Garmin, Cobra, Kingslim, Rexing, etc) and this is the first camera I came across with this issue. Are you guys working on a new fix? ---- original review ---- My biggest concern is that it will stop recording in the middle of a trip regardless of the distance. In order to fix it you have to pull over to manually format the SD card which means all the previous recordings will be lost. I bought this REDTIGER F7N 4K camera to replace an obnoxious Rexing V1P 3rd generation that was failing 50% of the time. This REDTIGER camera was a breeze to install and it was an upgrade from my old one with much better 4K definition on the front and 2.5K on the rear camera. I installed it on my wife's Tacoma and she was very happy specially because she no longer had to unplug the old camera every other time she drove the truck. I put a 128Gb SD card and off she goes. Well, our happiness last three weeks when she told me the camera was making a beeping sound and displaying something on the screen and it was no longer recording. My first thought was there might be something wrong with the SD card so I did the format and told wife you are all set. Two weeks later the same thing happened so with! Turns out that this camera does NOT overwrite previous recordings so when the SD cards gets full it just stop recording until you manually erase/delete all file using the "format" SD card which is a pain in the butt because you have to go through a series of steps in the little screen and takes time. Like I said, for your own security you have to do it safely parked and not while driving. It might be something silly for some but for me is a deal-breaker. Too bad my return window has passed and now I'm stuck with this camera.

Great quality, affordable price.
Aside from occasional issues like a corrupted SD card, and the painfully slow downloading speed if you're downloading to your phone app, the dashcam itself is solid quality, last a long time, and the quality for both front and rear is great for those who need a reliable dashcam but dont want to pay $500-600 for a higher end one. I do recommend looking for "High Endurance" or "Industrial" SD cards as Dashcam SD cards, particularly lower storage ones like 64gb and under go through a lot of cycles especially if you have the camera set to say 1-3 minute recording increments, and the last thing any of us want is a card to go bad right before, during or after an accident where you need the footage for your Insurance provider.

The good, the bad, the odd.
Edit: After more experience with this device, I'm afraid I've had to take off a star. More of the Bad: - When you plug the camera in to your computer, it only remains in "Mass Storage" mode for a few minutes before flipping back to recording mode automatically. If you're in the middle of reviewing video, too bad. This is horrible design if working as intended. It should remain in Mass Storage mode until the device is dismounted or the USB cable is unplugged. - The loop feature just does not work. On the drive home from work today it started beeping at me with a "Card Error". There was no way to silence it without unplugging the device. (No, I couldn't turn it off because I had the parking motion sensor on, and the movement of the car turned it back on. No, I wasn't going to fiddle with menus to turn that off while driving on the highway.) When I got home and slipped the card into the computer, I found it was merely full. I expected it to overwrite the oldest unlocked files at that point, but that didn't happen. Instead, it refused to record any more video unless I reformatted the card. - GPS Media Player supposedly allows you to flip between front and rear video as you watch. This does not work. It can also theoretically play both front and rear video simultaneously. It *can* do this, but not directly from the camera or the chip. Front and rear video are stored on separate folders. For the simultaneous playback to work, you have to copy all the files you're interested in (after making sure they cover the same time period) from both front and back folders into the same folder on your computer. Strangely, even if you do this the flipping feature *still* doesn't work. It can find related front and rear video in one mode, but not the other. - The camera is very slow to start recording after detecting motion. If someone bumps your car, you're likely to be able to spot the culprit only by sheer luck. I only know this because even on medium settings it usually turns on just from the motion of me sitting down or shutting the door. More Odd: - On the SD card, unlocked files are stored in folders called "Movie_F" and "Movie_R". Locked files are stored in folders called "Park_F" and "Park_R". Since all detected motion so far is from me getting in and out of the car, I don't know what it does if it detects a collision while driving. The Good: - Recording quality seems excellent. - Low light imaging looks good. - GPS and speed data are all recorded along with the video, and seem accurate. - Accelerometer works well. On medium sensitivity it turns the camera on if I sit down heavily in the driver's seat, so I expect it detects collisions acceptably. - Basically, this does exactly what you want a dash cam to do, and I'd recommend it to my friends if they wanted a good, functional, economical option. The Bad: - Manual is poorly written and needs updating. For example, instructions for the rear camera mention a wire that is not in fact present. This seems to be left over from an earlier iteration of the product, but it doesn't give me much confidence that the rest of the manual is up to date. - Snapshots taken with the still photo feature are distinctly "meh" in quality. - The GPS Player app appears to only display video in limited resolution, and captures of individual images are poor quality. If there's a way to get it to play at full resolution and do better quality captures, I couldn't find it. - Playing videos through Microsoft's Movies & TV app requires purchase of a codec. It's only 99 cents and there are workarounds (see below) but still. - When I tried playing video back via the built-in screen, it played for about a minute, then the whole device froze and rebooted. This feature does not work well. If playback on the road is needed you may need to use the app via a connected smartphone, but I can't comment on that since I haven't tried it yet. This is with a 256 GB Samsung SD card that meets their required specs (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09B1GXM16) so I'm assuming that's not the problem. The Odd: (By which I mean things that aren't obvious.) - If you keep an eye on the screen while driving you'll notice an occasional stutter in the video. This is on the screen only and doesn't show up in the recordings - The screen on the device does not actually show the entire image. Playing back on the computer reveals the camera sees more in the vertical direction than it appears while recording. This is good, because otherwise the field of vision would be unacceptably narrow. - Speaking of playing back on the computer, if you don't want to buy the extra codec, alternative media players such as VLC Player (free download) work just fine. They will also display the image at higher resolution than GPS Player seemed to allow. - The GPS unit is actually in the mounting bracket. If you're doing a bench test and the unit isn't connected to the bracket, it won't pick up a GPS signal. - When installing the rear camera, you can ignore the part in the manual about the red wire. It's not there anyway. - The manual says the device records in a loop. This isn't actually true. It records in segments up to 5 minutes long (1 minute long by default), continuously generating new files. In case there's some incident you want to save, you push the up arrow button to "lock" the file so it doesn't get overwritten. In the camera's playback mode, locked files can be found under the "Urgent" menu. - The hardwire kit comes with fuse taps that fit an ATC fuse socket. Unfortunately, my car uses low profile mini fuses, so I needed add-a-circuit kits. You'll also need them if you don't have any available fuse sockets, or the ones that are open aren't appropriately powered. (You need two sockets, one that's always on, and one switched.) - It connects to your phone via wifi rather than Bluetooth. I'm guessing this is for bandwidth reasons. - I can't comment on how well playback works if you're reading the files directly off the device. My computer has a card reader, so I chose to retrieve the files directly from the SD card. YMMV.

Excellent product and outstanding customer service
I bought the dash cam about five years ago, and it had been working well until recently. The front camera just stopped working. Sometimes it is completely black and sometimes it flickers with colored lights. I contacted customer support using the email address on their official website and explained that I thought it was a hardware issue. I also mentioned that I understood it was already out of warranty. To my surprise, they replied the same day. After confirming that it was indeed a hardware problem and not something that could be fixed with a software update, they offered me a brand-new dash cam for free. I’m now using the new one. To conclude, I think from my experience, it is reasonable to say that a single purchase can give you around ten years of reliable use of the dash cam.

Rear camera is an exterior mount NOT rear window so complicated for Jaguar F Pace install
My first dashcam (I have been using an android app (Droidcam) on my phone for a few weeks which worked well as a test run but made the phone run hot). Unit is smaller than I expected with a screen so you can see what it sees. Other buyers had some issues ... here is my take (I skipped the picture quality aspects as they are covered by other reviews - its actually 2k but fine for my purposes) 1) Front camera mounting location is important - my car (Jaguar F Pace) has a specific area where you must mount electronic devices that need to have an external signal (eg toll passes - I found this out to my cost!) This is a black dotted area around the rear view mirror. Anything mounted outside this area gets flaky reception - this camera has GPS so needs to be mounted in the designated area. I took some time to work out where to put the camera so I could a) access all the buttons (both sides of the unit), and b) access the SD card - left hand side as you look forward. I ended up mounting it just to left of the rear view mirror (I am in the USA) - 2 pieces of electrostatic sheet are provided so you can glue the mount to those rather than the windscreen. Take your time! It is pretty unobtrusive but I can get at it easily including the button for taking a still picture... 2) Connecting to the unit - the unit uses a Wifi signal NOT bluetooth (same procedure as a smart bulb) so you need to connect to this. App is OK (I had no issues with Android) - connected fine. App install bombed out the first time but worked fine 2nd time. I had to allow a couple of permissions (write images etc) - all standard from my POV. 3) Installing rear camera - one thing I did not realise when I bought this was this is an EXTERNAL camera and is designed to be mounted on the number plate frame - having spent some time looking at how I could do this on my car I decided it was too complicated (if not impossible due to sealed units on the trunk) and opted to buy a rear window mount. I already have a reversing camera at the recommended location and this mounting position is too low for my purposes (eg if I have a small hitch attached the camera view would be blocked) Your car may be fine - suggest you check install BEFORE purchase or buy the window mount - this is the one I got. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09Y2RS7F3/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2D03PT3N1OAWT&psc=1. Red Tiger should probably add this cheap piece of plastic as another option or just include it in the kit. 4) Running the wires - there are 2 tools provided which allow you to push the wire into the trim around the window etc. Dead easy. Adhesive clips are also provided but I didn't use any. Front cable is 12 feet which is a little short for my purposes. USB C so ambidextrous on the right angle connector! 5) Connecting to power; The power unit is a gigantic cigarette lighter plug with an added USB port but it was just too big and the wire was about 2 feet too short for my car so I used a high powered double USB socket cigarette lighter plug and bought a 15 foot USB A to USB C cable. NB the jaguar F pace usb port did not provide sufficient power for the unit (it hooks into the infotainment system) so this was not an option in my case. Looking at hardwiring videos its all pretty straightforward - you need a multimeter to work out which fuses are on when the car is off (for 24 hour power) and which ones you can use (eg DONT use the airbag or any security circuits!). Seat power seems the easiest to use but check your car manual and other recommendations! . You need to buy a couple of wires to piggy back onto the non essential (but permanently ON) power supply in the fuse box. 6) Functionality: I really like the unit - small but well made - clear picture in the little screen and picture in picture for the rear view. Pretty intuitive - (power button for back and then middle right button for select and the other 2 buttons navigate the menus). In settings I turned sound OFF, GPS ON and WIFI On (whilst I tested the phone connection). If I had to grab images I would probably just pull the SD card and read it in my laptop. The 128Gb Samsung sd card comes with a reader chassis. 7) Recording time: It looks like the sd card needs be formatted every few weeks (there are settings options for reminders for this) and the 128Gb supports about 8 hours of travel. When the card is full is overwrites and you can specify the loop timing. - I set it to 5 minutes from memory. All in all a good purchase - I would recommend the 128Gb card bundle and grab a rear window mount if you don't want to fiddle with running the cables through the rear of your car. Dinged 1 star for 4k and lack of rear window mount and the app is not great as others have pointed out. UPDATE 11/14/2023 - I was stationary, waiting to turn right onto a main road when the driver behind rammed into the back of me. Fortunately there were no injuries. The rear dashcam captured the whole event as well as the driver getting out of the vehicle confirming who was driving. I uploaded the video to the insurance company to prove my statement and am currently getting my vehicle fixed ($5K of damage). Apparently, I will get my deductible refunded if the other driver is found to be at fault (this is VERY clear with the video). The only tricky element was reducing the size of the video to something that could be emailed or uploaded (seems like 20Mb is the limit for the latte with my insurer). All in all very happy with the purchase and the quality of the video.
