EssieTLC INDI-GO FOR IT!

I like this series from essie, and have bought four colors over time, from different sources. I got indi-go for it and glowing strong from Amazon. With Amazon, the price and free shipping is a plus, and I have nothing to complain about the packing either. I also like that the 'treat love and color' series comes in a nice plastic box, making them easy to carry or to give as a gift.The problem with buying them from Amazon is the colors. If you choose the colors by only looking at this page, you are bound to get disappointed. There are plenty of nailpolish reviews available online (just do an image search and then go to the website to read more), and the essie website usually includes pictures of each color on nails of people with different skin tones. I found that those images, of the polish actually painted on, to be a far more accurate representation of what each color looks like in real life.In general, I found that these nailpolishes are : thick, no top/base coat needed as they say, but you need to apply at least two coats (usually three) to get an even, opaque look. And by that time the colors may look different/darker from what they do here. If your nails are not buffed, you may need to use the gel couture top coat to get an smooth look. But I found the essie nailpolish stronger/thicker than other brands I've tried, so I like this all the same.One thing I don't like about it is they seem to mislead customers into thinking that this nailpolish will improve nail health. That's just not possible. At most it might be easier to apply or hold on to brittle nails without flaking. My nails are alright, so I just got it because I liked the colors (from the nail polish reviews, not the amazon page).

I'm really pleased with Indi-go for it: a pale denim blue that you can apply as a semi-sheer milky blue (1-2 coats) or a brighter bold blue (3 coats). I normally use a base and top coat when applying polish but this product is an all-in-one so you only have to do one step. The brush is wide and flat which is my preferred brush shape. It really gives an even distribution of lacquer on the nails, even when applying with my non-dominant hand!The polish definitely lasted longer than usual, but it's a little early to say if it's strengthened my nails. I have always had really weak and brittle nails that peel especially in the winter when my cuticles and skin are dry. After a week or so of wear, I removed the polish and then reapplied a few days later (I'm on round 2 right now) so I will see if more extended use will be noticeable. I love the colour either way so I will gladly use it anyways!This polish is perhaps slightly more expensive than regular essie polishes, but for the 1-step convenience and the possibility of stronger nails over time, I will definitely consider buying more colours. I received this as a gift but would happily repurchase with my own money based on my positive experience so far.

I don't usually stray from the usually nudes and reds but decided to try the "Steely Grey Blue", a light almost baby blue, and I was NOT disappointed. The colour was identical to the picture and the bottle contents (no lighter or darker - sometimes the bottle contents are deceiving). I followed the instructions of two coats and added strength. The layers were not too light, and had full coverage. The one thing I wasn't overly impressed with was the drying time, it took longer than average to dry. So far it has been 4 days with the polish on and only the very tip of one of my nails the polish chipped off. Good quality polish, great colours, I would definitely try the other colours and purchase this product again! I received this as a gift.

Essie has come a long way since the first flat polish I tried several years back. This strengthener doubles as a polish, and is amazeballs!The brush applies the polish neatly on my nails, having a slight curve to the edges - very forgiving for my sloppy nail polish application skills.With two coats, I have enough polish on for full coverage, and the polish lasts me about 5-7 days before it starts chipping.As I'm lazy about nails, I don't use a bottom or top coat, and this polish seems to hold its own through life - dishes, putting coats on 10 minutes after applying polish, cleaning, normal daily life - without chipping throughout the week.I like the muted colours, and opted for the Indi-go-for-it - it's a nice muted lavender shade.Overall, I'm impressed and love it.
