Danke an Martin Amis . Das nenne ich einen Dienst an den Freund .Gibt es mehr davon?

The world lost an important free thinker
For those who knew about Christopher Hitchens, nothing really need be said. But for those who didn't know him, I would like to say that it is definitely worth your time to read anything he wrote, for he was truly an extraordinary mind whose life was a ceaseless battle against all forms of totalitarianism and hypocrisy. This work "The Quotable Hitchens" is a compilation of his numerous quotes in various contexts, all of which are laden with his acumen. Highly recommended.Hitchens died of oesophageal cancer on December 15, 2011. I was caught in utter consternation and was in a state of shock. But it did not take much time for me to realize that he is immortal in the works he left behind.Christopher was a man of strong conviction who never succumbed to the political correctness, but chose to make his attacks with unusual degree of relentlessness, backed by solid evidence. Whether it be Henry Kissinger, Bill Clinton, Mother Theresa, Princess Diana, Jesus Christ, Prophet Mohammed, Mitt Romney, the Pope, Jerry Falwell, he always stood by his principles and never was afraid to criticise them with harsh but truthful words. His bookish eloquence even as he spoke was a rarely found talent. His call for intellectual honesty will live on in the minds of free thinkers. It is a shame there are no gods for Christopher to "Hitchslap" where he is now.Rest in peace. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
