Great filter and a good price!

With prices of oil filters going through the roof. This Bosch filter is good quality, fits like OEM and is half the price. A no brainer.

Everyone, On the last sale (june 20) we read the reviews and purchased 2 of these filters. I usually NO NOT write reviews but I think it it important to hear the truth about the purchase of Bosch Prem Filters. ONE - WE ARE NOT PAID BY ANYONE TO WRITE REVIEWS, AS OF TODAY WE HAVE HAD 60 purchases from AMAZON. We love the Bosch brand and the price was extremely conducive, so we purchased 2. Upon arrival I inspected the packaging and took both filters out and reviewed them. BOTH WERE PRISTINE - NO DAMAGE. Yesterday, I took the old filter off my Silverado and put the BOSCH on, and 6 quarts of oil. The threads went on perfectly - NO LEAKAGE UPON START UP. For those of you that have Chevy's they are really touchy on the oil pressure. The pressure immediately came up and went to 50 PSI. We are very happy with our purchase and will probably buy a few more it the price sticks around $5!

In comparing the particulate filtering ability of today's oil filters, I do believe it worth the extra few dollars to upgrade to a "premium" filter. There are a lot of good filters out there. Some overpriced for what you get, others reasonable in price for a decent filter and of course plenty of junk. You do get what you pay for, in general, and the better filtering media, thicker housing, seemingly heftier seams, etc. of a premium filter make sense with today's engines and synthetic oils. I personally have grown to prefer either Bosch or Wix oil filters. For me, Wix always seem to leave the rubber sealing gasket behind when removing. While a minor thing, it is enough to swing me toward the Bosch. There are a lot of zealots out there who think anything other than their chosen brand is inferior (It is odd how territorial men can be when it comes to motor oils and filters!). I'm a gray haired guy who has changed his own oil for decades and have an eye for quality or even average stuff with exaggerated claims. I complete my oil servicing ahead of schedule in my family automobiles which range from a brand new Volvo, to my 15 year old Ford pick-up (owned it since new), to my mother's Buick and the dozens of collector and oddball cars and motorcycles which came and went. Whatever filter you chose, my advice is to pay the extra few dollars and get a quality, premium filter. I will not say Bosch will be the only filter brand I will henceforth use, but I like them in the current design and will continue to use them as long as they maintain their quality. Currently a fair price for a premium filter.
