what is the shelf life of a pack like this?

Thank you for your inquiry. Typically survival kits will have a shelf life between 3-5 years mainly depending on the food and water. We use SOS brand food and water which has a shelf life of 5 years. Are the items split evenly within the 2 bags?

Thank you for your inquiry. The bags are not packed exactly the same. In the interest of keeping the kit as condensed and compact as possible, there are some items for which there is only one unit with the expectation that they are to be shared among the party of 4. If you would like 2 identical bags we would recommend purchasing two 2 person kits.
