Weak tension cords
The problem with this shockmount .vs. the Electrovoice one is that the tension cords in it are not quite as strong as they need to be and this causes the mic (and internal cage mount) to contact and bump the external cage. I for one use an RE27 N/D and with this shockmount when the mic is in it and I turn the mic sideways to face me, this happens. I don't know if others have had this problem but for me it's something I had to fix and I did so myself by adding additional tension cords.BTW The RE20 is actually heavier than the RE27 so it might actually be worse with an RE20.Other than this the quality is solid. This issue may be fixed by new tension cords.

Works great for the Heil PR781 and PR40
I got this shock mount for my Heil microphones (PR-40 and PR 781) and they fit great and the mount works perfect on my boom. The Heil microphones are dynamic front fire types and the mount is a little longer than the Heil mounts. The microphone front is where the shocks end (see photo). It works and I‘m ok with it but if you prefer it to stick out a little more don’t buy this one. Is perfect with a RE-20 but that microphone is much too noise sensitive in my environment and doesn’t sound as good as the Heil. The quality is good, I would buy this mount again.

Excellent shockmount for RE20 and other broadcast mics!
I needed a second shock mount for an EV RE20 mic, and decided to give this one a try. I already have the EV 309A, but the Auray mount was such a great deal on Amazon, I couldn't resist. Well, the Auray is just as well made as the EV model, works perfectly, and does exactly what I need it to do. I have an Auray boom arm, which I also highly recommend.....so much better and stronger than all of the "cheapies" on Amazon. So all things considered, I'm very happy with the Auray shockmount and boom arm. If I catch the SSM-BC10 on sale again, I'll buy another one!

Excellnet Mount
This one is heavy duty and it works and looks great with my Heil PR40. Excellent shock isolation. Very strong and durable and looks well made. It is heavyer than other shock mounts due to the metal on it but well worth the investment. Excellent product at an affordable price.

Built like a tank
Wow, its big, it's sturdy, and built like a tank. Make sure you have a solid Mic stand/boom arm as it and an EV27 are heavy. But it works great.
