Etiquette Paperback – July 11, 2011

These books are clearly marked discount book by the mark of a black pen. To sell it on Amazon for full price cheapens and deceives the buyer. This is not a new copy! This is a discount book and should be graded as such on Amazon. Quality control this seller. I am reporting them for this fraudulent representation of a book. It clearly needs to be marked less than FULL PRICE

This book promotes kindness, politeness, and appropriateness as a lifestyle. The situations, of course, are entirely outmoded -- almost 100 years old -- but an intelligent reader can read between the lines to discern the appropriate, polite, and kind way to behave in contemporary situations. Simply because of my own interests, I particularly like Mrs. Post's observations on style and dress; her comments about fashion are spot-on, even for the 21st century. Because of changes in dress over the course of the 20th century, her list of clothing appropriate for a well-bred man can be used even for a contemporary woman to build her own wardrobe -- with reading between the lines and discernment, of course.

This product is not a reprint of Emily Post's Etiquette...it's actually a rewrite and a poor summary in poor Engish. It is missing chapters and has multiple blank pages. Not a legitimate product.

It is a slimmed down version of the classic I grew up with and still own. Bought it for my niece because she kept stealing my copy

I love Emily Posts books on etiquette it’s important to not let proper etiquette die out.

No stars. This book sold to me has blank pages throughout. Buyer beware. It's too late for me to return it unfortunately, and I am stuck with a book full of blank pages.

Don't bother ordering this edition. The first copy I received had about half the pages blank - some sort of printing snafu. I thought maybe a one time thing. Nope. The second, replacement copy was the same. Just buy another edition or download for free on the internet.

Not the slightest bit relevant to today, but fun to read and educational to an extent - excellent for digging into when you know that you are going to be interrupted too many times to follow a story!

This book was originally published in 1922, so if you intend to buy this on the advertisement that it has been re-written for modern usage, think again.  Emily Post's Etiquette, 18  is probably the most recent.Still, if you want to know what was "right to do" post-World War I in America, this is the book to read.
