Great Coffee
Valhalla Java is a standout choice for your morning ritual. It delivers a remarkably smooth cup with absolutely no bitterness, making it a pleasure to drink straight or with a splash of milk. Whether you brew it in a French press for a rich, full-bodied texture or use a standard drip system for convenience, the flavor profile holds up beautifully. It’s the perfect way to start the day.

I'm poor and simple, not a coffee connoisseur, but this is totally worth it.
I'm not a coffee connoisseur, nor do I have the money to throw away on things like high quality coffee beans. For someone as broke as I am, this was an impulsive, self-indulgent buy I may not ever be able to afford again. Fifteen bucks for twelve ounces, when I can get three times the amount for the same price, is a lot. But it was worth it. This is delicious. It's smooth and it doesn't leave that acrid after taste I've come to expect of dark roasts. My palette isn't evolved enough to tell you all the notes and nuisances, but I can tell you the aroma that hit me when I opened the bag was a waft of pure decadence. You can smell the difference immediately, especially if you take a whiff of another, cheaper, brand of bean beforehand and then smell this one. It's amazing. And it tastes amazing, too, of course. Rich and so smooth, I can't emphasize that enough. My stomach didnt hurt at all afterwards like it does for some dark roasts. I suppose quality over quantity really is important in this case. Ive only gotten into whole bean brewing (? Is that what it's called??) recently, and this is one of a few whole bean brand things I've tried. I kind of don't want to try any others, though I'm curious. It's so good. Have I mentioned that? It's very, very good. And the caffeine is... usually, coffee puts me to sleep, but I'm super alert right now. Too alert. Colors are brighter. I really like this coffee. Also, the whole Norse thing is awesome. I wanted to buy it as soon as I saw the name. I was worried I had wasted money on a novelty, but no, it deserves the name and praise. I wish there was a line of these. You know, like Nidhogg something, or Sif or Loki or Jormungdr or Freyja whatever. I bet they'd be amazing too. (hint hint, free idea, you're welcome :D). Just get it. It's good. You know you wanna.

Great coffee, yes, but worth the price?
I love a good dark roast coffee, and like many people I need the occasional caffeinated slap in the face, so after reading the mostly positive reviews of this coffee I figured I'd give it a shot. Is it good? Yes, especially if you like dark coffee. Dark but not bitter, slightly sweet but in a "90% cacao" kind of way, and not excessively fruity. It has a strong backbone, but I didn't find its flavor profile exceedingly complex. That can be good or bad, depending on what you enjoy. Did it take me on a flavor journey, transporting me through different realms of gustatory experiences as it traveled over my tongue exciting a wide range of taste buds? No, it didn't do any of that. It was, however, good coffee; not one-dimensional, but not complicated either. In terms of caffeine content, I brewed my first cup with a mix of excitement and trepidation. Would the coffee machine be possessed by the spirit of Odin and pour forth a stream of Nordic nectar? Would my freshly shaven face suddenly sprout a deep-red beard that begged me to braid it? Would I feel empowered to take on my daily tasks with the fury of Thor's hammer? No, none of that happened either. It did wake me up a bit, but I didn't ride around my kitchen on a caffeinated tidal wave. Bottom line: This is a good dark coffee with flavor that is robust but not multi-faceted and a caffeine content that is at least what you would expect from a strong cup of coffee. My only quibble is that it is fairly high priced. Whether it is worth its price is up to you; for me, in this price range I like something with a little more complexity. I like this Valhalla and will probably return to it, but for now I will stick with my personal favorite dark coffee for my regular morning brew.

Changed my perspective on what good coffee is
When I ordered it, I was under the assumption that really good coffee is supremely complex and very bold in its flavor profile, so I wanted to order something that had no bitterness and was from a company with good reputation when it came to roast dates and shipping. On arrival, I was expecting just a bag, but it came in a box. Sadly, the box was mangled a bit, part of shipping in an amazon bag, I guess (Should set up a deal with Amazon to ship in a standard box, would love to have that art riddled box around as something visually interesting.) The beans had a very mellow and dark smell, not super in your face, so it was a good sign. On brew, the smell wasn't strong either, but I was determined to drink without creamer to see what it was like. I was disappointed, though, while the bitterness from sub par coffees wasn't there, it didn't meet the expectations I had built in my head, but that's my fault. What I did learn from it was that it has a slightly sweet undertone that sits at the back of your tongue, and it holds that place for a loooong time, very good. The coffee is smooth as silk, and when you add creamer....wow. I looked at the creamer more as enhancement than something to mask the taste, and it didn't disappoint. Having that silky feel and clear flavor profile just enhanced the experience all across the board, I'm in absolute awe. The caffeine hit though...WOW. They aren't kidding when they say it's the highest caffeine content, even through drip, it feels like a couple shots of espresso, it's insane. I will definitely be ordering more of this coffee as a "Get your A** up" drink, but others would do well to steer away from /this/ roast or brand if you're wanting something you can drink a lot of in one sitting. Great work, guys, absolutely amazing.

To My Side, My Noble Einherjar: A coffee review by Wesley R. Cummings.
The product in question here is a coffee known as Valhalla Java, which is from a company called Death Wish Coffee. There are many dark roast varieties out there, but none can claim to be darker than the night before the coming of Ragnarok. Upon beginning to open the bag, faint Viking war drums encompassed my apartment. Once the seal was broken, Mjolnir, Thor's hammer, thundered down into the Earth as my senses were transported to visions of walking across the great bridge towards Asgard, and the palace of Odin the Allfather. The beans are of a quality that could only have come from the rich soils beneath the World Tree Yggdrasil, and upon starting to grind them, massive bolts of lightning tore fantastically across the sky, putting on a light show more brilliant than any fireworks display. The sky was lit up with the very silhouettes of the Norse gods themselves this night. Deep, rich aromas fill my nostrils as the brewing process begins, filling my cup with what appears to be the Black Blood of the Earth, the nectar of the Allfather. I feel as if I am being prepared to fight for the Aesir, and a Valkyrie will shortly be here to claim my soul for the war. The Jotun, Fenrir, the Mighty Midgard serpent, Jormungand, Nidhug and all manner of Norse age monster all seem but weaklings as I take my first sip of the purely magical concoction. This stuff packs a kick, but goes down surprisingly smooth for such a dark roast. Coffee in hand, I am prepared to make my final stand. Aside from this ridiculous review, in short, get your hands on some of this coffee. It is very rich, smells delightful and goes down crazy smooth. I drink a ton of coffee, and the effects of caffeine don't really seem to take a hold of me, but this stuff is quite magical, as I'm feeling quite the surge of alertness, like I could intercept someone trying to break into my apartment while they were still 50 meters away by power bombing them into the night soil with the fury in which Thor throws Mjolnir. It's that good. I will definitely be ordering another bag before this one is used up.

Death Wish Coffee should get its' own holiday.
Freakin' loved it. The only other Death Wish Coffee I've had was the Dark Roast, which is my favorite whole bean coffee for working the night shift. I ordered this Valhalla Java Odinforce blend after it went on sale. This might be my second favorite coffee. Very smooth and wonderful taste with enough caffeine to get me through a night shift alert. Death Wish Coffee must employ some heavenly angels brought to us from some higher power-coffee God.

Best beans known to man
This is the best coffee beans I have ever encountered. Dark. Smooth. Tasty. Not bitter. And does not upset my very sensitive stomach. Not sure how this blend is so perfect. I don’t plan on sampling any other beans for the next foreseeable future. Im probably a coffee connoisseur and have sampled the highest rated bean roasters on Amazon for the past couple of years. Worth every dollar. Just try it. You probably won’t be sorry.
