Not durable enough.
Let me start off by telling you that you won't get the pair of gloves pictured because Mechanic Wear has updated the design to look more like their regular mpact gloves(they no longer have any orange in the color scheme). I almost returned these gloves because of that last sentence so I thought it might be nice for future buyers to know ahead of time. I am a firefighter and I purchased these gloves as a general utility glove to wear on the scenes of car accidents that require clean up but not extrication (use of hydraulic hand tools aka Jaws of Life). I have a dedicated set of heavy duty certified extrication gloves but those are too expensive to use for picking up debris, sweeping, and other general on-scene task and at the time of purchase, these cost about 1/3 the price of those heavier gloves. I decided to go with the CR5 version because I would be using these around broken glass and sharp shards of plastic and often metal debris. These gloves did not live up to my expectations. I got about 5 wears before developing large holes in the left glove's finger tips which in total probably equaled about 4 hours of work over a 5 day period. The work done in that time was minor and I in fact worked only two accident scenes, of which the second is where I noticed the holes. I actually began noticing unusually heavy wear after only the first use when I rolled about 200 feet of 1-3/4" hose and helped load another 200 onto a fire engine but I thought the gloves condition was only cosmetic, it was not. Just incase you're wondering, these were new gloves in the original packaging when I received them so I can't their premature failure on receiving a used set. The bottom line is I would not recommend these as work gloves. I gave them two stars because they are comfortable and have good dexterity but there durability is unacceptable and considering the price, they are a bad buy.

Great glove worth the money wish they were cheaper
Feel like they are great I Work as an Arborist so a lot of gloves I’ve tried Don’t last more than a week these I can get a good month out of them the leather on the outside begins to wear but you can still get another month out of the overall good product feel like they’re a little expensive for how long they last as far as where in tear

Protect ya neck!
Got these for work as they recently required all techs to wear cut resistant gloves. Haven’t lost a finger yet. I gave them 4 stars because some of the knuckle padding is starting to peel only a month in. Also they make it hard to thread smaller hardware so I’m constantly removing them.Overall they get 2 thumbs up. No offense to anyone with only one or no thumbs.

Best MTB gloves I've used - and they're not a bike glove.
Best bike gloves I've ever purchased. I use a couple other Mechanix models for riding but I like the additional cut protection without added bulk that these offer. If they came in straight up hi viz orange/yellow I'd be stoked but as is they look great. You can pay more for far less glove in the mtb gear world! The only part I've worn through in 8 months of regular use is the very tips of several fingers - for a while I was using one pair for both riding and as a work glove.I can almost guarantee these will shrug off a year of use strictly as a MTB glove.

For my wife...
I wear the XL's all the time at work. Rather than flimsy yard gloves, I bought her the same safety gloves I use as a heavy rigger. Excellent hand protection. She loves them.

Great wearing gloves but require a firm grip
Purchased these gloves for my husband after he sliced his hand on cut glass. So far he really likes them but they do require that you have a firm grip on items you are trying to pick up. They breathe very well which was a concern with the Florida heat. So far they have been a great purchase and hopefully will protect him in the event that he picks up broken glass in the future.

Tough gloves
I use these when chopping up wood. Flexible and dexterous enough to pick up pieces of wood and handle equipment safely. Completely resistant to splinters. Protect knuckles from being bashed. These usually last me about two years before one of the finger tips wears through. Bought the bright yellow version as I kept losing the all-black ones.

Comfortable, hard wearing and warm, also still able to use a smart phone with them on (just about anyway)1st pair i had lasted 7months and only wore out on the first two fingers due to handling sharp objects everyday.Still better than standard work gloves and worth the money.

Been using them for mountain biking. Very good grip, loads of protection from brambles and thorns just a little too warm for this time of year.
