What if you really could?
I know it sounds crazy, but what if you really could make up your mind about what kind of a day you were going to have before you have it? That's only one of Jacob Glass' outlandish suggestions. It gets worse, he goes on to suggest that you need only train your mind (much as you would train a puppy) to focus on the things that reinforce rather than erode the champion inside you. Sure, if it were only that easy! Well, to be honest, Jacob never says it will be easy. In fact, he strongly advocates for "penguin steps," insisting that lasting change only comes as a result of slow, steady practice. Then, in the tradition of truly remarkable teachers throughout the world, Jacob lays it out, step-by-painstaking-step, until even a 61-year-old retired educator like myself can't escape the truth of it. In this case, like most, the proof is in the pudding, and Starve a Bully, Feed a Champion is an awesome pudding! Each morning, before we even get out of bed, my wife and I take turns reading the next chapter to each other, and there's just no denying that getting our minds in a better place, with a positive and instructive Jacob Glass thought-for-the-day, not only makes each new day better for both of us, but makes us feel like we have choices we never thought we had before. Training our frisky old minds to focus on and "attach" to only that which is best about Life, the Universe, and Everything isn't the easiest job in the world, but it sure helps to have a real "Puppy Whisperer" give us a great head start each morning!

How My Champion Got Well Fed
Jacob Glass is a wonder. For the last two decades, he has shared his messages of wisdom, inspiration, and peace with mass audiences in the Southern California region. He has assisted tens of thousands of people (myself included) in making permanent changes by eliminating toxic relationships, and finding ways to pursue dreams with humor, patience, and love. Now anyone can access his work. His latest book, "Starve A Bully, Feed A Champion" provides a series of helpful and insightful tips for coping with the stressors that we are all facing in today's world. Chapters such as, "An Attitude of Gratitude," "Just Like Me!", "The Proof Is In The Fruitage," and "A World Of Wonder", offer essential tips for helping you to see the world, and your relationships with others, in a completely fresh way. It reminds me that although I cannot change the violence, the extreme weather, or political mudslinging, I do choose how I experience and react it to it.If everyone spent as much time feeling their "Champion" as they did their bodies, we would be living in a much different world. Do yourself a favor and take the first step by buying this book.

Support and Inspiration for the Serious Student of a Course In Miracles
By way of introduction, I have been doing the Course In Miracles diligently in a Do-It-Yourself solo mode for a little over a year now, devoting to each morning the necessary time to read the text and incorporate the daily exercises into my life. As anyone who has read the text for CIM knows, stylistically it is very beautiful but at times the dense writing can also be tough going, especially when undertaken without any external support. After one year, I felt it was time to ratchet it up a bit and introduce some outside influences into my regimen so I didn't feel so isolated in the process. The timing for the release of Jacob's book could not have been better. With "Starve a Bully..." he offers daily themes spread out over 101 lessons that are clear, precise, applicable in a practical worldly way and that truly resonate on multiple levels depending upon where you are at with the work. There is so much I really love about Jacob's writing: he is refreshingly honest and non-patronizing and doesn't mince words about the importance of really doing the work necessary to achieve the desired results--all taught with a light, disarmingly sweet touch that refuses to take itself too seriously. While I would have liked a bit more support on the day-to-day journaling which are an essential aspect of the work (and downloadable from Jacob's website), the minimalist input has forced me to rise to the occasion and find my own unique way through the worksheet thus strengthening my spiritual muscles on a daily basis. The bottom line of the work is so simple yet so revolutionary which is to learn to work with your mind and your thoughts so you are no longer a victim of your own bruising and relentless negativity through the refocusing of one's thoughts on gratitude and the daily application of positive affirmations. Working with Jacob's teachings, I can say I am truly making real progress. I am very, very grateful to Jacob for the real support his book is providing to me in the quality of my life and in my spiritual practice

This book is the best way to start your day or to get a boost during the day when you're feeling off. Did you know that the biggest bully in your life is yourself? Even if you know it, you need to be reminded constantly because that bully has a loud and persistent voice. Bullies don't die quietly. Jacob says that we need to move beyond Survivor. Being a Survivor means that we're still defined by "it". DON'T GET STUCK THERE!! Move on to the next level of Champion where "it" really is ancient history and doesn't define you anymore. I bought a print copy to mark up and a Kindle copy to have with me for emergencies and quick fixes.

Thrive!
As Jacob so aptly teaches in this invaluable book, "You were not born to merely be a survivor, you were born to be a thriver because you are a champion." You will learn, in easy, palatable, inspirational bites, how to suppport the champion within so you can be happy. Learn how to really banish bullying in the world by banishing your own self-critical thinking- that bully within. This brilliant, wise and eye-opening book is the best game-changer you will ever embark upon because, as Jacob also tells us "You don't live the life you deserve. You live the life you think you deserve."
