The Fruitful Life

As a student of Jerry Bridges for the past 40+ years, this book was expectantly powerful. Identifying and diving into the nine traits of God’s Fruit was very insightful. Being guided through this treasury of “Fruit” gave deeper understanding to experience God’s most holy and majestic attributes displayed in my own life. This book will join the others by Bridges, Piper and MacArthur found impressionable and transformative within my book library. EnJOY the read, and be blessed in its application.

Great book! We are covering this in my womens Bible study and I am LOVING it!! Highly convicting. Solid Biblical stance. Great book for those looking to dive deep into the fruit of the Holy Spirit!

Excellent book. This is a very important book for all Christians live a life that is pleasing to God and faithful to the Scriptures. The fruit of the Spirit is not given much attention by the church today, because many so called 'Christians' are so influenced by the world that it cannot be seen in them. Shame on the pulpits that accept a 'Christian life' that shows no fruit of the Spirit at all, not to harm the 'feelings' of today's 'Christians'. This is a very relevant book to be read by all 'Christians' to grow in the knowledge, fear, devotion, and love to our amazing God. A must read book. Reviewed by a Brazilian in Brazil.

What a wonderful book that really breaks down practically, the descriptions of the Fruit of the Spirit, what they look like a in a believers life, and how to grow in these traits. How to let them practically be alive in your own life through the aid of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Mr. Bridges. All of his books are a Godsend, practical, encouraging and written with such humility.

The book was great & had a ton of great nuggets. But, it didn’t have as much practicality as I would have desired. I did love the spiritual and biblical basis, as that falls in line with what I believe- but it was too “big picture” for me with little applicability. Overall, I would read again!

What a detailed look at the Fruit of the Spirit. This book is extremely convicting about how far we fall short when it comes to God’s requirements.

I've been reading The Fruitful Life...and before I've even finished reading it the first time, I've had to order a few copies to share as Christmas presents! Previous works by Bridges I have read all or parts of, I found to be a little meaty and overwhelming for my needs and personality. But this book takes the best elements of his style and focus on the Word, and gives an extensive overview of Galatians 5:22-23 that is very applicable to our daily lives in today's world, challenging the reading in a good way without overwhelming the reader in a negative way. Those who have studied the Word for years and those who are new believers can all benefit from the simple yet straight-forward nature of this book.

Pastor used much of this in a lecture series. I read to get as much out of the series as possible.

This book is an ever so practical read on the Fruits of the Spirit and other essential Christian graces. Like his other books such as The Discipline of Grace and The Pursuit of Grace, his writing is ever so useful. This book is the definitive read on Christian growth.
