Roller coaster ride.
I loved this story! The plot was genius. Beth is a girl recovering from the loss of her sister three years ago, suffocating under the constant anxiety of her parents need to keep her safe. Then one night changes everything. Beth goes to a party, meets a gorgeous boy and they have sex. Chase the mysterious boy with the world on his shoulders. Chase wants Beth. Beth wants Chase but no one will understand or like these two together. Beth shouldn't want him but she does. Torn between what people expect her to feel and what she really feels deep down, Beth must make a choice, who matters most? This is a story of love, loss, fate, guilt and one girl's ability to see a boy who made a mistake and see an accident as exactly that. Can you love the one person everyone expects you to hate?I loved this book. It's one of those books that will stay with you for days. Erin is back with another story that pulls you in, captures your heart and Doesn't let go. Just fantastic.

Another fab Erin Watt read!
What another great YA angsty read by this writing duo!Erin Watt smash it again by giving us another fall in love easy to read story that makes us not able to resist falling in love with the main characters.Beth is 17 and still goes to high school.. shes having a hard time with her family due to them struggling in differnet ways from the loss of her sister Rachel.Chase is new to town and likes to keep to himself... quiet angsty and getting over a recent return from being in Juvie these pair manage to make a bond thats strange to everyone... including themselves.Absolutely love this story and i just melted into the book from first to very last words!

A heartwarming read!
5★----I was not expecting this book to be so incredible. I took it on holiday as a book to read whilst I was relaxing, and it ended up with me being so engrossed in the story that all I was doing was reading. Although I have other books of Erin Watt's on my TBR, I hadn't read any of her work prior to One Small Thing. The writing style is so elegant and made it such a joy to read, it flowed really nicely. This book dealt with, and put in the spotlight, subjects that are not frequently shown in literature, and I'm so grateful that these taboo themes are included. In One Small Thing we follow the journey of Beth Jones, a senior in high school who is trying desperately to navigate life in a world without her sister. As the whole book is written from her perspective, you quickly come to love and root for her, and feel deep sorrow for her situation. Despite the agony her day-to-day life involves, Beth is still able to be such a witty and hilarious character. I love the fact that she finds solace in Chase. When you really look at their relationship, would it last in the real world? Probably not, but their story is utterly heartwarming. Beth and Chase both have such broken backgrounds but once they're together, it's as if none of that matters. They understand one and other more than they understand themselves, and it really shows in their relationship. Their connection is so pure and genuine that they'll always find their way back to each other. I also love the whole 'one small thing' concept of theirs, it's so lovely and gives the book a much needed light to it.Erin Watt has a knack for creating an engaging story with such beautiful morals. I cannot wait to read more of her work. I urge you all to read this book, it was such a pleasure to read and I am so sad to have finished this wonderful book.----If you're looking for more in-depth reviews, a place to rave about books or a community of bookworms - I've got you. Bit of a let down
Other book a by this duo are much better. Though the plot idea was good something was missing. You had no real idea about Chase and the book ends a bit quickly, as if they got bored.

Four Stars
This book was beautifully haunting and well handled. My heart was breaking for Beth and her loved ones. Once again the authors writing captivated me and consumed me. I will be thinking of this story for some time to come.

Hard to believe
I really enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down as soon as i got into the story.Although this is a problematic book it dealt with a lot of hard issues that made up for the overdramaticness and sometimes hard to believe plot. This is a book where the main character falls for her sisters killer!I know right? It sounds unbelievable..Chase is actually the only decent character in the book as the main character is quite annoying and stupid at times. Her parents are so over protective and she just lets them do anything to her and doesn't react except internally.Chase is a fully developed, flawed character who you can't help but root for. Even though he's made huge mistakes he has learnt from them and has served his time. I don't think the relationship would work in the real world as it seems quite one sided from Beth's side and it seems she's pushing for most of the relationship.Overall the writing was easy to follow and i fell hook, line and sinker for Chase.
