For anyone that wants to know Appalachia, and some of its finest artist, and craftsmen, this is a must read. Brilliant writing, and beautiful stories are sure to light a little fire in your heart.

This book is still influential after all these years. It documents a number of important folk artists of the Southern Appalachians, some in the early years of their careers. It is beautifully written and illustrated.

Beautiful book. Lots of pictures on subject. Nice followup to PBS presentation.

Full of new perspectives regarding the importance of native cultural art forms. Great graphics and wonderful documentation about a very important piece of our country.
