Do it be fannin'? IT DO.
I'm essentially a polar bear; lots a flubber and I love fridgid temps. My perfect sleep ambient temp is at or below 60. So as a renter in an apartment with no central AC, an old landlady that only turns the heat off June, July, and August, and a written rule in my lease that prohibits window AC units, I consider myself a fan afficinado. I'm also cheap. For the last week, I've been waking up covered in sweat. So, I decide it's time to pick up a box fan because my current one is nearing the end of its life. It had a good run, got about two years out of it but it's just not pushing air like it used to. No big. It was 20 bucks. I'm making more now. Maybe I'll buy two. To my digusted HORROR, they've nearly doubled in price. Lasko box fans $40?! I left walmart clutching my pearls. Head to amazon because I know that there's gotta be a $20 Basics box fan, right? RIGHT?? NOPE. $30 dollars. At this point, I'm livid. I work in a shop and am familiar with heavy-duty fans. Summer work in a shop is a sweaty business. I find this fan and it looks a lot like the one we have in our shop to sit on the floor and blow at our legs. Double that with a standing fan and you got yourself a wind tunnel that also works to keep bugs away from you when that one coworker insists on having the bay doors open "for the breeze" that doesn't exist. I digress. I do the math. I know what to expect as far as velocity with a fan like this, so couple that with the fact that I'm just spiteful at this point, I could justify the extra $10-$20. So I buy it. Putting it together was slightly aggrivating. It comes in two pieces, the fan and the little support bar to let it sit on the floor or whatever. I snap that piece into place and go to remove the plastic only to find they've put the plastic on and then screwed in the rubber nubs, essentially screwing the plastic onto the bar. I could've just ripped the plastic off but I'm not a savage animal, so I removed the nubs and then took off the plastic, replaced the nubs. Annoying but not a deal breaker. I did knock off one star on assembly for that because why. Sturdiness, well the metal supports are hollow, and I feel like if I wanted to bend them, I probably could, if not altogether snap them in half. So I knocked a star off for that. But the whole thing is made of metal and me likey. Noise. Any fan user knows that the noise level raises with velocity; if you want a quiet fan, you're going to suffer on air flow. If you want air flow, you're gonna have to deal with noise. I would akin this fan's lowest setting to being as loud as a standard box fan on high if not *slightly* louder. I'm half deaf in one ear so take that with a grain of salt. As far as air flow/velocity/blowing power, twenty stars out of ten, considering this is only slightly more expensive than a standing fan or box fan. This baby is WORKING and I'm pleased as punch. I have it blowing on me right now. It's moderately warm in my room, 75ish, and I'm pleasently chilly on medium setting. As a hot sleeper, take it from me, you need this fan. Spend the money. This thing is probably going to live a long time and end up saving money in the long run. I wonder if they make smaller varients I can put in a window, get a good hurricane effect going in my bedroom....that would be lovely.

Powerful, budget, reliable.
I've purchased from Bilt Hard before, it was a 24 inch drum fan that performed well for what it is. Eventually I gave it away to a neighbor and decided to get a replacement for the fan I'd had before the drum fan, a lasko 20 inch metal fan, and wanted to be sure it could match the power and maybe sound I remember from the lasko. At first I tried to get the same or a similar model from lasko at home depot but the image advertised did not match the model number and little did I know I'd got a weaker powered model. I returned it and remembered browsing high cfm fans and had to note the difference between cfm and velocity as this kind of fan is meant to blow hard in a shorter space rather than move a lot of air like a drum fan. Long story short, I got this fan, it did not disappoint me unlike the would be lasko replacement, it blows hard, at or harder than I remember my original metal lasko fan to blow, and as the much needed bonus for white noise it's quite loud but not obnoxiously loud for those who might find that annoying, just right for it's power. No squeaking, knocking, or otherwise weird artifacts or faults of design or assembly thus far after a few weeks with it, it does its job well. The ("sale"?) at 55ish dollars was nice, and originally I'd thought about taking up the two for one deal at around 100 dollars, but I decided not right now, but soon I'll gladly get the same model to double up at opposite ends of the house. I would generally recommend Bilt Hard as a budget friendly yet reliably working brand.

Powerful Fan for My Garage Workouts!
I got this Fan for my garage where I do my workouts, and it’s been amazing! The airflow is super strong, it really keeps the space cool even during intense exercise. The metal build feels sturdy and well-made, and I like that it can also be mounted on the wall if needed. It has three speed settings, and even the lowest one moves plenty of air. Perfect for keeping cool in a hot garage or workshop. Definitely a great buy for anyone who needs a reliable, heavy-duty fan for exercise or work areas!

Finally a Fan With a Proper Cord! UPDATED
I did forget to mention a couple of important things: The power plug actually has a fuse built into it, adding another layer of protection into the unit. It's already a UL Listed properly grounded cord. ALSO, the fan motor DOES NOT get hot, we run the fan day and night, the motor stays luke warm to the touch. Hope these bits of info help you Finally! A high speed fan with a proper cord. The other fans have a thin, two pronged electrical cord. This does not. It's a three prong, super thick, properly rated for its output. THANK YOU! I feel safe running this fan. Just because the cord is grounded and is a super thick, UL rated cord. I can't tell you how many other electronic devices I've bought that had an improper cord, that got hot while running the device. Like a spaghetti noodle cord. And this was a very affordable fan as well, sub $100. SO EASY to set up, it took me less than 30 seconds to plug two tube ends into each other, and tighten the two wheels on the side of the fan. Works perfectly, arrived perfectly, it's got huge airflow, this is not one of those box fans!! To put it into perspective, a LASKO WindMachine fan is about 1200 cfm, which is pretty good, and this fan can output 4,600 cfm. So it's not even close to a regular fan. Keep that in mind, it may be overkill for a small house, and knock stuff over, blow papers around, etc. Quiet for a fan of its stature, all metal no plastic except for little things that don't need to be metal. Yeah I love it, we put it in front of the A/C and cool the whole house, one level. 5/5 product, this is a good buy

Loud but does move air, but it is not for me. Customer service is fantatstic!
UPDATE (4-21-26): While the fan was not for me, their customer service was very responsive to my inquiries. There was confusion with the return process but they replied to my emails and resolved the issue in a timely manner! I raised my rating from 2-stars to 4-stars based on customer service and the confidence I gained in possible future orders based on comfort level of having issues resolved quickly. Original review: The fan is loud! It does move air which means you can place it further away from where you may be sitting so you can hear the person you may be talking to. The three speeds are barely noticeable and the volume of sound does not change much. It is of fair quality for the price. This is a workshop, patio or barn fan, not one where you may be entertaining guest.

Good quality and wind speed for smaller end garage fan
Bought this fan about one year ago to help cool me off during garage gym workouts in the south Florida heat. Pros: easy to move around and place most places; decent wind velocity for this size fan; decent price point for fan size; user friendly and simple design; three (3) fan speed using button dial; easy to clean blades using compressed air due to larger outer cage grill spacing. Cons: actually not quite to wind velocity for what I was looking for ( but it was appropriate wind speed based on the size of this fan and for the price); not super quiet but not annoyingly loud either. So, if I could go back I would just purchase a slightly larger fan for my garage. However, I’d have to spend more money than I wanted to basically. For this fan, it’s a win for the price/wind velocity/versatility combo. I use it a few times every single week in a two-car garage that faces to the west and exceeds well over 100 degrees in peak summertime. I’ll continue to only use this fan until it dies or until I’m willing to spend well over $100 for a more powerful fan.

BILT HARD 4650 CFM 20" High Velocity Floor Fan, 3-Speed Heavy Duty Metal Fan
BILT HARD 4650 CFM 20" High Velocity Floor Fan, 3-Speed Heavy Duty Metal Fan Product arrived quickly and was brand new. Set up was simple and it was running within a few minutes. Fan moves a lot of air and is not too noisy. There is no real low setting, I do not need that feature, however just wanted to point that out. This fan is for moving a lot of air quickly. Overall great product.
