I have used many different brands and styles of RJ45 connectors over the past 20 years, and these are on par with the best. The integrated strain-relief is a great concept and it works well at both cable protection and reducing snag. The channels are staggered (proper for terminating Cat-6 cables) and the boot section is the correct diameter for a Cat-6 cable; not too tight, not too loose. I'm not sure why people are having so much trouble installing these things. I'm guessing most are used to the newer style connector that allows you to thread the conductors through the end and use a crimp tool that trims the excess. These are the earlier style that requires pre-cutting the conductors at the proper length before inserting them. I have had no trouble getting the correct length and achieving a good crimp. I have also had no difficulty with each wire entering the proper channel. So far, I have used about 40 of the connectors and all have crimped flawlessly and fully passed using a pin-to-pin tester These are definitely my new go-to RJ45 connector and I will definitely buy some more.

The short story is these work exactly as they are supposed to. I would definitely but them again if I need more. The transparent material makes it easy to check the order of the wires after you slide them in so you know they are correct before you crimp. Of course your eyes have to work well enough for that. See my pictures for examples. You put the wires in the correct order and slide them into the connector. It guides each wire into its proper place. I installed 24 of these in a row and checked them each with a tester; I had no issues. The crimping causes the pins to engage and another piece at the back locks the larger wire into place. You can use it with or without the added support end, but I don't know why you wouldn't. If you use it, then you insert it before crimping and the crimping also locks the two pieces together. The support end is semi-flexible where it shrouds the wire, but stiff where it snaps into the connector-end. I included a video of the inserting & crimping portion. I just left out the only hard part of the operation, which is the separating, straightening and then organizing of the wires. That doesn't affect the performance of this product, but trust me when I tell you, it's the most important part of doing a good job. The wires are guided to their final position based on the order you put them in. If there is a bend in the end of one (or more) wire or they don't lay nice and flat next to each other or a gap etc. then they will possibly/likely go into the wrong slot. One nice feature of the see-through connector as I mentioned above, you can look and see the top row (opposite the pins) is all the solid colors and the bottom row is all the striped. That presumes you did the same left-to-right order (T568B standard order) that I did. The crimping tool and wire tester I used (wire tester was not in the video) both worked just fine; no need to spend a bunch of money on expensive ones. The connector itself is superb and very strong: I mis-crimped a cable and decided to try to remove the connector from the cable with the assistance of a hammer. I actually had a pretty hard time hammering the connector into submission. The protector part is somewhat lacking. It kinda-sorta clips onto the connector, but not in any permanent way. Even after crimping, a light pull backwards will pull it away from the connector. It is also easy to fold back the protective lever-thing. The disparity between connector and protector resilience was a little surprising, hence dropping down to 4 stars.

After making custom cables for many years, I finally ran out of my old pack of ends. Looking to replenish the supply, I found this deal for ends and boots. I had never used boots before and was excited to add this finishing touch to my custom cables. Everything works as expected, crimps easily with Cat6 and Cat5 cabling. Cat5 cabling is a little loose, that's to be expected. One pro tip we found was to crimp with the boot and plug end lined up. Make sure the boot and goes over the little tab on the plug end.

As a Business to Business I.T. Consultant, I tend to go through a lot of different components looking for the best quality I can find. These are without doubt the best RJ45 ends I've found, and the Hoods are a great bonus. The end connector it self is sized just about perfect, making a nice snug fit in every female RJ45 connection port I try. Installing the RJ45 end is probably the the most user friendly I've found yet. there are channels to guide separate the wires as they near the end of the connector. However, not only do there separate horizontally, but also vertically, separating the solid color leads, and the striped. It's hard to explain, and if I get a chance I'll update this review with a few pictures, but this feature makes it VERY easy to double check your lead order before crimping, as well as the ability to see the leads are fully at the end of the connector before crimping. The spacing inside the connectors is just right, meaning you can literally trim exposed leads to about ¼" and they will hit the end of the connector for crimping. It really gives that professional "factory" made look. Lastly the hoods fit perfectly with no wiggle or spacing from the RJ45 ends after crimping. I have no doubt the RJ45 connector lock tab will be well protected with the hood in place. Overall very happy with this purchase and the price. I just hope this price stays, as well as the product.

Purchased the RJ45 CAT6 Plug & Boot set. They are extremely easy to use and create a clean professional looking finish. The boots are much easier to use compared with the plastic boots which often tend to get stuck or you have to use extra force to pinch the plug out of a socket. I've used quite a few CAT6 plugs in the past but these are great as there is plenty of space inside for the cable and there are guides to allow the cable to slide in easily. No time wasted trying to get the small wires in the plug.

日本製線のCAT6ケーブルです自宅用に試しに3本作ってみました。ロードバーはありませんが、問題無くできました。よりを戻す部分を真っ直ぐにできれば、比較的容易かなと思います。ブーツのツメをかける時、ケーブルの太さにも左右され多少タイトなため力で押し込みましたがブーツも取り付けでき、コスパは良い品と思います。個数あるので、初心者の方でも練習兼ねて試すのも良いと思います。
