Bosch Psm 200 Aes Multi Sander (Two Sanding Papers, Rectangular Plate, Case, W)

After having a couple of loud and average sanders (good brands though!) I spent two days reading many youtube reviews and comparisons. Eventually, I decided to buy this sander and I MUST SAY THIS IS AMAZING... noiseless and functional ... I love it... by the way, I'm a sculptor so this review is from that point of view. And at the end thanks to the seller for unbelievable fast delivery.

Only for small jobs. I just started using for big job (but only started today few hours ago) wear and tear of pads started and I guess maybe in few uses like this and I haven't even started I would require news pads. The power is ok but not as I expected from the reviews I read, therefore, it is not the best to be honest but ok for small jobs. Medium sized and big jobs need something else definately.

Lack of product information. I returned the product after opening it because it is for 50Hz frequency only. Before purchase I want to ask a question regarding the frequency but it was already answered and one buyer said he got the 50/60Hz. It is much better if Frequency will be added to product description since different country uses different Frequency. I rate it 3 since I never used the product.

Before buying this Bosch sander I spent a few hours checking through various detail-sander reviews on a number of different makes but most included poor reviews on either the effectiveness of the dust collection box or the availability of replacement sanding sheets. I eventually opted for this Bosch PSM 200AES Multi-Sander and I am not disappointed! This is a versatile little sander which comes with 2 sanding plates: a rectangular plate for sanding larger areas and a "clothes iron" shaped plate for detail-sanding which gets into little nooks and crannies. Despite some reviews saying it is difficult to change the sanding plates over, I didn't find this at all problematic, in fact it found it quick and easy. My first job was to sand-down a softwood kitchen worktop which had previously been coated with varnish. The courser grade sanding sheets removed the varnish layers and I then re-sanded it twice more using progressively finer grades of sandpaper, finishing with a 120 grade. The job took me about 4 hours but I am delighted with the results. Again, despite some reviews to the contrary, I found the dust collection box picked-up 90% of the sawdust provided it was emptied regularly. The dust box lid is a little fiddly to fit back on but not as bad as some suggest. I chose Bosch because replacement sanding sheets are readily available and I bought a selection separately when I purchased the sander as it only comes with a couple of sanding sheets. I would recommend this sander for most DIY jobs of this nature.

I used this on a bookshelf build today and it impressed me. I used to own one of the notorious Black & Decker sanders that don't last very long, and sure enough it tore itself apart a few weeks ago. That thing was rated at 230 Watts and this Bosch is rated at 200 Watts, but the Bosch is by far the more powerful of the two. The Bosch has variable speed so you can more easily sand gently, and is much better ergonomically. The micro-hook velcro sanding plate grips the paper extremely well so I had no problems with sandpaper being shed during use. The built in dust collector is a mini vacuum cleaner and like most of them it only collects a little of the dust — I hope things will improve when I get a full-sized Bosch vacuum cleaner that can be connected to it. It is easy enough to open and empty the dust box, but it is a bit harder than it should be to put that two-part dust collector back together after you empty it. This is a minor design flaw in an otherwise excellent product. I wholeheartedly recommend this product.

There's nothing to dislike about this sander - it performs well and is easy to control. I do have an issue with the robustness of the sanding plates. They do seem to damage relatively easily and I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing - maybe a softer material is less likely to mark/damage what you are sanding. I'm a DIYer and after a good few days sanding, it looks like it's been with me for a decade. Nonetheless it seems to do the job but there is a doubt in my mind that at some point i'll be purchasing a new plate for the thing

Perfect as easy to use for a woman not too heavy I also like this make ,not done a lot with it yet but I’m sure I won’t regret this

About 10 years ago I tried to sand my oak kitchen worktops. I used a small hand sander similar to this one. The results were not good. Fast forward and this machine is amazing. I am in my sixties and the ease with which this sands is so good. Just rest it on the wood and let it do its thing. The vibrations are also must reduced from the previous sander and the dust bag very useful. It doesn’t trap it all but cuts down the mess considerably. Highly recommended.
