Working well in windows 98 machine
So far working well in a Win98 retro PC with a 32GB SD card. Had some issues with not having master/slave jumpers so I had to put this on a IDE channel all by itself with the CD rom on another channel by itself. It would be nice if they made one of these that plugged right into the board without the need for the IDE cable.

Can't boot off it
It's useful but not as useful as I wanted it to be. You can't boot off it, with the 20 year old Dell desktop I inherited. But once you do have it booted off of something else, it does recognize it as a drive and it can see the partitions and mount them.So plan on using this as a 2nd drive, not your primary.

Worked after resoldering connector
When I first got this adapter it wouldn't work in any machine I tried, from an old Socket 7 motherboard to a new PCIe PATA adapter. Then I saw that a couple the solder joints on the 40-pin connector didn't look very good, like there was not a solder to form a good connection. I resoldered those pins and just for good measure touched up the joints on all the other pins. After that , the device seems to work without a problem! This is a great little device that was let down by poor quality control, regardless of the big "QC/PASSED" sticker.

Fantastic for old computers!
Using this with my 486 in collaboration with a Western Digital utility that allows larger drives on older BIOS. Works fantastic, nice quality SD card slot.

Excellent build quality, great for original Xbox repair
Very well done custom PCB that works out of the box as advertised. My use case is to replace a dead 20 year old HDD in an original Xbox console, but as long as your SD card is properly formatted and not too large, you should be able to use this in most legacy hardware that uses IDE.

Setup is a breeze
This thing worked perfectly. I have different SD cards with different operating system configurations for my vintage gaming PC. Depending on your CPU, it can be quite a bit quicker than the old HDD that was in there.

Works So Much Better than a Hard Drive
This card is very fast compared to a hard drive. I'm using it in a retro machine running Windows 3.1.

Does work
For those saying does not work. Wrong. Needs both power cables plugged in not just the large 4 pin.

Works Perfectly right out of the box!
I needed this product to bring an old Megatouch bar entertainment system back to life after the old IDE hard drive died. Even though the motherboard was technically a 486 it was still able to recognize this device as a hard drive. (Using 16GB FAT32 formatted SD card). Next I will replace my original XBOX hard drive and Playstation 2 hard drive with this device!

Works perfectly
Excellent drop-in replacement for old IDE HDDs. I like that you can give it either a normal MOLEX or 4-pin floppy for power. It seems to work best for computers from the late 90s onward, anything older and the BIOS might not be compatible.

Does not function at all
I ordered 3 of these and brand new SD cards. they simply do not function. tested in 3 IDE computers, and 3 known good tested SD cards. Utter junk. Don't waste your money.
