You must apply it to your bike shorts. Look at the video on YouTube.
I have been using this for a year. Saw it on YouTube first. It is awesome.

My Go-to Chamois Creme
After having used another popular chamois cream for a while, a friend turned me on to this. This is a "European" style chamois cream that has a little bit of a numbing agent included. This has been absolutely awesome on 10 hour long gravel rides such as Unbound and Big Sugar. You can immediately feel the cool numbing agent when you apply it. It is thicker than the other popular brand, and for me, that means it does not get diluted as much through sweat and prolonged periods in the rain as what happened at Unbound in 2023. I knocked it down to 4 stars for two reasons. #1 is the cost, as it is more pricey than the other popular brand. #2, is that it only comes in the big tub, and not in smaller packages that you could throw in your pack somewhere. As I have done multiple 10 hour rides this year, I have had to carry the other brand's smaller individual packaging with me because Assos doesn't have that smaller option. At Unbound that didn't matter as much as my wife met me at the 124 mile mark, but that wasn't the case at Big Sugar or The Rad where I didn't have a crew. But, I will continue to use this as my main chamois cream despite those two drawbacks.

My favorite chamois cream—when it’s authentic
If you do rides longer than 25-30 miles, you may find that chamois cream adds comfort and reduces the risk of chafing and saddle sores.Of the multiple chamois creams on the market, I find that Assos makes the best—it does a great job in reducing friction and is pleasant to use, with a slight menthol ting.Unfortunately, there are counterfeit versions of this cream being sold on Amazon, and also what appear to be old/expired products that are dried out.If you’ve never used this cream, I suggest that you buy your first container directly from Assos in order to get an accurate idea of this product and its packaging before you purchase it on Amazon. If you inadvertently purchase a counterfeit version here you’ll want to be able to tell it apart from the real thing.

It works
I am recreational biker but usually bike from 1,000-2,000 miles a year and so some long rides in the summer (40-75 miles/day). I have been using Assos chamois cream for several years now and have not had problems with chafing. You can't get away from a sore butt, but the chamois creams has eliminated any chafing problems. I recommend it.

I'm an Assos fan, but there are other chamois creams that are easier to use.
I bought this when I couldn't get the Button Hole cream I like. I'll use it up, but it's a bit too thick and chalky for my taste, making it difficult to apply. But once on it works well. Be warned that it does have some level of tingle, which I don't care for, but it's not excessive like some others.

Using forever - this is the BEST
I've been using the ASSOS brand chamois cream in my bike shorts for well over a decade, and it prevents chafing, skin rash, and helps tremendously with soreness too.I am an avid weekend warrior mountain bier rider, and I also ride Enduro motorcycles. I wear my chamois bike shorts every ride and if I run out of ASSOS, I do not ride lol.
