I use the books by Julia Cook in my behavior improvement setting in elementary school. They are great for helping students understand they can make better decisions.

Julia Cook always writes books that teach good SEL lessons. This one on patience is just as good as her others. The book talks about Cora who “just can’t wait”. The book offers strategies (counting to 10) for calming down while waiting. Patience can be a hard topic to tackle but this book will make it easier.

Pages where stuck together and fold

Cora is excited to be going to Slushy Shack for her favorite treat. She acts out in the classroom oh, her mother is late, and she misses out on her favorite treat. This is an influential book about patience. The cover is amazing. Because the cover is colorful, and it piqued my interest. The title made me pick the book up and I'm glad I did. The illustrations were detailed, colorful, and Vivid. I recommend this book for elementary aged kids. I give this book five stars.
