Flexzilla Retractable Enclosed Plastic Air Hose Reel, 3/8 in. x 30 ft, Heavy Duty, Lightweight, Hybrid, ZillaGreen - L8232FZ

I have been using flexilla air hoses for a few years and they are awesome in all weather. I decided I wanted to mount a hose reel by my new compressor so I bought this flexilla brand and I am very satisfied with it. The hose extends out of the reel and retracts very smoothly. I have full confidence in the flexilla brand.

Easy to mount and easy to use

Appears well built. I have used flexzilla for years and outlasts other hoses. Mounting sucks. Hardware isn't included and the mount doesn't come off so it's a tight squeeze. Electric ratchet is definitely handy

Was a gift, however the hose will not hold, it tries to retract all the time

Perfect for my home garage where it is nice to have air at arms length but out of the way when not needed.

I'm giving it a 3 star because of the material used. This is probably 98% plastic. I had to un reel the hose all the way and reel it back in becasue it was getting hung up somewhere inside. Pros: light weight, nice color, doesn't leak Cons: as stated, 98% plastic, feels a little on the cheap side for the brand. Came from factory with an issue with the reel and hose getting caught inside Conclusion: it seems to be working so far with no leaks. As of this review, I can recommend this to someone if they csnt afford a "top of the line" brand.

It was fine for the first few months, worked as expected and seemed it had a decent build quality - very strong re-spindle pull, not super consistent with the locking but could always get it to retract back within the first 2-3 tries or so. This last time I went to use it, I pulled a little too far (past the red tape line which is my fault for not paying closer attention). Didn’t think it would be too big of a deal to try and get to retract, but found that it was seized up and wouldn’t retract no matter what I did. Until I took it apart… which I would definitely not recommend! Hah! Luckily I knew it was a big bear trap waiting to happen so I didn’t get hurt when I finally was able to get it to retract, but if you weren’t paying attention & taking caution, you could definitely undergo some serious injury to hands, face, etc. I was able to get it somewhat fixed, got the hose back on the track and re wound the spring so it pulls back the hose, however now it doesn’t lock at all which makes it next to completely useless. Bummer. I would stay away from this one, unless you’re incredibly careful not to extend past the red tape. I’m going with an open faced version next.

The hose acts as it should in my opinion

It goes from left to right as it reel the hose back in so you don't have it bunched up and jam the mecanisme. If you don't know Flexzilla, well it's the best airhose you can get. Been using the same flexzilla hose for over 10 years in a shop environment and never had a single issue. Its not the cheapest air hose reel you'll buy, but it'll be the last one.
