THIS BOOK EXPLODES BIG PHARMA FOR THE HORROR THAT IT IS
i was amazed by what I learned in this incredible book. If antidepressants, antiphsycotics have affected you or anyone you know, you MUST read this book. Although sort of poorly written, it exposes Big Pharma's lies and falsehoods and how they influence doctors to use their horrid drugs. This woman's story is horrible, but many, many have gone through the same thing, I myself am getting of antidepressants because of it. You will be so angry when you read what is going on behind closed drug trials, etc. It is a really scary book! Needs to be classroom 101 reading by all.

Excellent book on the dangerous side effects of antidepressants.
Excellent book. It’s an eye opener to see what these drugs can do to people. It is not too well written (terrible sentence structure), but I still give it five stars for having a wealth of information. And the overall layout of the book was actually pretty well done (the timeline, etc). I would highly recommend to anyone who would like to know more about antidepressants. I would especially advise anyone thinking about taking antidepressants: read this first. At least be aware of the side effects, and know what to do if those side effects show up in you or another person.

bad science (no raw-data
What are the causes of the causes that pills can steal anybody's lives? Well, regulator capture, low FDA standards for accepting new drugs, bad science (no raw-data, pure marketing with pseudojargon which looks serious), corruption in medicine... We need more books like this hoping that there will be no more books like this in the future.

The Truth abut Psych Drugs - this could save you and those you love
Every time we have the opportunity to share our experiences with these drugs, and what it did to our lives and those around us, that is another opportunity to help just one person from experiencing this nightmare for themselves. There is so much loss from these drugs. There are thousands of similar stories out there. Thank you for validating so much of what I have experienced in the lives of my loved ones!

It's just one woman's story
I'm on antidepressants for about a year now, so I was really interested in the subject. What I read was far from my expectations. This is a very emotional narrative with small occasional gains of actual research into the subject. Lots of product placement - Garmin, Apple, Ocado etc on every page, which is quite irritating. When it comes to the actual research into the issue she quotes daily mail and other newspapers. As for me it's definitely not the most credible source.I could have just read the epilogue to be honest. One of the messages in the book is a very important one though : do your own research. It's not the doctor who is responsible for your body and health, it is only yourself who can truly decide. And also Do tell your relatives that you are starting antidepressants - it was important for me to be around my husband when he started his meds so that I could pick any adverse effects.

Well-written book, interesting read
It’s really useful read to know how the industry works, but I personally don’t think depression is made up by pharmaceutical industry, sorry- after what I went through myself. I couldn’t be more grateful for the existence of this ‘pill’ , as Setraline- the antidepressant definitely saved my life. I had symptoms for one year and had to beg my GP to prescribe these to me, as I was feeling extremely low and suicidal after my divorce-and it wasn’t as easy as the book says to get the prescription. Apart from being ‘emotionally blunt’ and losing my libido- which was what I needed at the time, and putting on one stone as it does increase your food appetite, I had no other side effects, didn’t feel suicidal anymore or had any need to harm others at all. I was on antidepressants for 10 months. Getting off them was not easy, had to lower my dosage gradually. The book doesn’t really pay attention to the positive cases- which may only be few and I was the lucky one, but it’s still a good read. I completely agree that it can cause hallucinations and make things worse for other people - so it can be very dangerous too.

THE PILL THAT STEALS LIVES
The reviews for this book were so accurate . Once I started to read the book on my Amazon Fire HD tablet I could hardlystop reading it. Perhaps as I consider myself as a VICTIM of prescribed Anti-Depressant drugs ( Paroxetine -SEROXAT )the subject matter was one that I could easily relate to.There but for the grace of God I could have found myself in a very similar situation to the writer. Well written , but not asurprise really when you know the background of Katinka . One day in the near future I feel certain that SSRI'S , includingSEROXAT ( PAXIL in the USA ) prescribed by Doctors and Psychiatrists for patients with various mental health issues , including depressionwill become to be known as another ' OPREN ' or THALIDOMIDE drug scandal .The " Pill that steals lives " is a very accurate title of Katinka's book and it is a book that every person who is on Anti-Depressantsshould read . Of course there will be many people who will think that Katinka's experience is the rare and extreme account of a persontaking anti-depressants ,but sadly it is a lot more common than most people think. For me personally it was a huge wake up call andone that has made me really determined to start a programme of withdrawal from these dangerous drugs as soon as possible .Much has been written and talked about these drugs and even the BBC ( Panorama ) have produced several documentaries on thescandal of these medications and this and lots more information is covered in the book THE PILL THAT STEALS LIVES . I myself amcurrently taking SEROXAT ( 30mg. daily ) and have been taking it for a while. Having tried and failed to withdraw several times in the pastI feel it is now time to come off this stuff before it is too late . Best regards to Katinka and her family . Hope she is happy and healthy.Jimmy G .

Wow!! I am so glad I found this book!
After being prescribed antidepressants (Citalopram) due to suffering with my hormones, I decided to look into the side effects before taking them. I came across this book and I am so glad I did. After reading this i decided not to take them and instead looked into a more natural alternative approach. I have learned so much by reading this book and I would recommend to anyone who is suffering with either depression, anxiety or hormonal issues to read this book before taking antidepressants. Thank you Katinka for sharing your story.

this book does a great job of bringing information together in a great readable ...
I could not put down this book. I took citalopram 10 mg for 6 months after advice that they stop anxiety attacks so I could finish my university degree it did not do this and has ruined my life. I have never recovered before i played team sports and now my life is blighted by many side effects. this book does a great job of bringing information together in a great readable book. I wish I had done my research before believing doctors hopefully this spreads the devastating dangers of these drugs. how can doctors even say they are not addictive is beyond me.
