Looks great wish there was more heat

I was lucky that this fitted my existing basic brick fronted fireplace without the metal surround. The measurements looked good but the 3D VIEW worried me and it is not accurate. The side panels they show are meant to be the surround along the sides and top. This is completely removable by undoing several screws to leave just the basic innards at the back. I levelled the unit with a couple of old 2p pieces under the front metal plate behind the removable plastic basket. I love the look of the actual fireplace especially the removable bowl shaped basket front. The flame effect is very good. You can’t expect perfection in this scenario but I think it’s as good as it gets and better than my waving ribbons which I thought were OK in another fire I used to have. A little imagination is a good thing. I probably won’t use the fan heater as I bought it primarily for looks and effects. Just need to hide the mains lead a bit now and find a nice wooden lintel, if I can find one that fits. Really pleased with it!

It’s an attractive fire. I prefer the log effect to coal effect. Easy to set up, just lift from the box and plug in. Slimline so it does not occupy the whole fireplace. Despite being a 2000watt I would say it does not have great heating capacity. Maybe in a smaller room it would be fine. The flames at the back are very fast and distracting, slightly slower would be more natural. Also the controls, are next to the fan heater, so they get very hot. Not ideal when you want to switch the heat off.
