Make sure you place the clip correctly in the tool, and squeeze! I built a chicken coop with attached run that I have deemed to be the fort knox of chickens. One of the many layers of protection was the use of hog rings to help tie panels of hardware cloth together. This tool performed wonderfully, and I used every single one of the clips provided. I had to order more clips which I got through another vendor and found that the original clips were in better quality. Treat the tool with some kindness, keep it out of the elements and understand how the tool mechanically works and don't push it.

Very solid pliers. They are smooth and crimp the hog rings with ease. Good value for the money and they arrived super quick.

The padding on the handle began slipping and tearing before I finished using all the hog rings. Which I did in a couple days.
