The visuals could be good, but I got lost with the story line. My fellow bookclubbers largely agreed with that view.

This “used” book is in great condition! And a good read too! Although a bit confusing at times...

Great read, suspenseful to the end...
I quite agree with the review, "fiendishly clever"! Spiraling here, then there as one not sure of what is real, frightened and angry too, tells us her story. You must read this creative and engrossing tale carefully, there is much to take in. Definitely will read more of Redhill's work.

Ehh don’t bother
This book was sooo good in the beginning. It was twisted and moving along, I couldn’t put it down. And then the story line just dropped and it wasn’t making any sense and I pretty much skimmed the last half of the book because it truly made no sense. It had the potential to be a really amazing book. The plot just had too many holes for me.

Overrated I’m afraid
The story didn’t make sense to me, and I didn't enjoy reading it.

Excellent style and fascinating story, but the end was disappointing.

A great and rewarding trip/read. Demanding as good writing requires. A tad long with too much extraneous material but still very rewarding.
My review does not require 20 more words so this will have to be enough from me at this time

This was a good novel in general
This was a good novel in general. It started off pretty well, leaving me intrigued to know of Jean's Doppelganger. However, I found the ending to be vapid and predictable. Still, it was an overall enjoyable read, set in downtown Toronto.

Interesting and unusual story exploring obsession and mental illness. The medical explanation for this seemed a bit contrived to me but it made for an interesting story nevertheless. The ending was quite unexpected and I'm still not sure it really fit....

Fascinating read!
Extremely interesting read from a very talented author.. Love that the setting is in Toronto..Makes your mind work in some out of the box areas..

It's as if the author wanted to take on an exercise in complication rather than tell a good story. The protagonist wasn't believable
What's happened to the Giller Prize. This isn't up to standards. What happens to the main character was not clearly revealed. It's as if the author wanted to take on an exercise in complication rather than tell a good story. The protagonist wasn't believable, and clues and lofty words were sprinkled throughout for no apparent reason.

Not a good choice.
This book is, in my opinion, one of the worst books I’ve ever read. The ending did not give any answers. I read this for our book club and no one liked it. Very strange and confusing read.
